Early Sunday morning the world lost a great performer, a Heavy Metal God, a small man that sang larger than life, Ronnie James Dio.
He was had a major influence on my life. His words,
"The world is full of Kings and Queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams,"from the song "Heaven and Hell" are forever enshrined in my High school year book, and has been my favorite quote on Facebook. Songs like "Stand up and Shout", "Killing the Dragon", "Don't Talk to Strangers", and "We Rock" (which I posted a link to a live performance) had a meaning of holding true to your values, and not selling out, virtues not very common in the world of music today. I'm sure his lyrics, as well as his perseverance have influenced many.
Well I leave the obituary writing to others. I'll just conclude by saying "Ronnie you will be missed be many people and your music will surly live on for ever. Rest in peace."
