Oh, yes, tonight is a big night. It’s freakin’ Lost season 6 premiere time!
No joke, I love Lost. The season 6 premiere is sure to be a great evening of fun and mystery. I’ll be watching it at a friend’s house, Dharma beer clenched firmly in hand.
The official Lost season 6 premiere time is 8 p.m., 7 p.m. central. If you haven’t watched the first five seasons, don’t bother tuning in, though. You’re much better off renting the DVDs or Blu-rays. In particular, the Lost “recap episode” (which apparently condenses 103 hours of material into 44 minutes) isn’t worth your time.
OK, now begins my real rant about the Lost season 6 premier. If you’re not a Lostie, you will probably be confused. Spoilers ahoy!
For me, mocking characters I hate is an integral part to watching Lost. The season 6 premier will be no different. For instance, I cheered a bit when Juliet fell down the shaft to the bomb during the last episode of season 5. Yeah, yeah, she pounded away on the Jughead bomb until it exploded, but she’s no hero. She’s a traitor. Hopefully, the bomb’s detonation reset the timeline and we won’t have to watch any more crap from 1977. I wonder if anyone will have died in that explosion? Also, I fully expect some people to resurrect: Daniel Faraday for sure, and possibly Locke (for real this time).
In the present, I expect that Fake Locke will disappear/transform into Jacob’s Nemesis. But the preview for Lost season 6 premiere shows apparent “flashforwards,” so there’s really no telling what will happen in the present after the bomb.
My main theory for the entire season 6 premiere of Lost is that Jacob and his nemesis are playing a huge game. They’re demigods and they can control life and death – so it doesn’t really matter what happens. That’s right. Boone and Shannon for the win!
