I thought it necessary to explain my reason for developing the pseudonym Truthbrary...
in the light of others who may be using the same name. I wasn't always a follower of Christ, rather I pretty much went the opposite way... until that is I was challenged by some words in the Bible that claimed I could have a new life, if I obeyed. Words like...
Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32)
"...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... and the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 3:23, 6:23)
"...because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Because it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. " (Romans 10:9-10)
"That means, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; and all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
...these words and many others in the Bible I have found true, not because someone told me to believe, rather I obeyed them and Jesus kept His end of the deal and transformed my life. It is because of this dramatic change I want to share this new life with others. Simply, I want to do anything to direct others to saving faith in Jesus Christ...
"Truthbrary is another name for the Bible"
As one dictionary put it... "Truthbrary" is another name for the Bible... and as the stories in the Bible reveal the everyday interaction with God and His people, I thought it fitting to write about God's everyday interaction with me. Some have said that we are living the 29th Chapter of Acts... a continuation of the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of people, drawing the world back to Himself. Some of the greatest proof for the accuracy of the Bible is that it exposes the characters flaws. That's right, it's "heroes" are some of our history's biggest loosers!
These every-day heroes (or loosers) enjoy the God of the Universe's 24/7 attention and His amazing grace... He is the reason for living, even after all we have done to destroy all that is good honorable and pure. "He restores my soul!" ...as one writer of a portion of the Bible put it, and I agree... "He restores my soul!" I can use a bit of that everyday!
Some ask me why I write on stuff that seems to have little or no bearing on religion or on faith in Jesus... I am just a person, and being transparent about my interests, one should see that I am in no way better than the next guy. I just blog about life as I see it and how Jesus makes a difference in this life. I am narrow-minded and opinionated... maybe slightly more than the next guy... however it shows the grace of God, and that He can even reach someone as twisted as myself !:]
