Why you are wrong.

With all the conflicting opinion in the world, there is a fair chance that most people are quite wrong, much of the time.

Accordingly, I have decided to start providing a new service on a trial basis. I will be glad to tell you, here on RantRave.com, exactly why you are wrong.

As I am in the unique position of hardly ever being wrong, I am sure that many of you will appreciate this service, offered free of charge.

Although many people like to have their ideas validated by the agreement of others, it makes sense that no one should be more popular than someone who is willing to helpfully criticize others.

Unfortunately, there are so many wrong people in the world and there is a practical limit on the amount of correction that I can provide. Some people will miss out.

To assist me to correct as many people as possible, please set out your conclusions in the a format that expressly states your premises and any deductive or inductive arguments that lead to your conclusion.

If your conclusions aren't based on premises and arguments, I may not be readily able to help you.

I may volunteer this service to any of the articles posted on RantRave.

However, as someone once said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there is no accounting for taste. For this reason, there may unfortunately be some topics on which I cannot definitively demonstrate your wrongness.

Once I have provided my assessment of the wrongness of an opinion, we can then consider the matter closed, and move onto another topic.

I love this Rave.

No one likes being wrong, but we all are from time to time whether we admit it or not.

There are actually folk on this site who think they are NEVER wrong. That they never generalize, that they never contradict their own philosophies, that they even have all the answers and that anyone who even questions their analysis is quite delusional, insane or a left-wing, right-wing extremist.

Gross generalization abound, along with pompous egotism that would put Narcissus to shame.

You solution to our dilemma is an admirable one. However, I think you will drive your own self quite nuts trying to weed out all of the wrong on this website. LOL!

If I thought you were serious, I would just have to tell you how wrong you are in trying to accomplish this.

Stan, you made my day.

Every Rant Raver worth his/her salt already offers such a service and as such, your offer is redundant

Not every Rant/Raver feels that way. I hope.

I'll stick with Stan.
17 months ago: I'm only wrong when I open my mouth and speak (or put pen to paper) so I guess you will just have to read all that I post and add your assesment to the rest. You won't be the first nor the last to put your two cents worth into the fray, good luck!

Oh yeah, since you are hardly ever wrong, be sure and ask your wife about that, be interesting to hear her opinion......

17 months ago: That's nothin. Once, I thought I was right, and then I found out I was.

17 months ago: Ok then! You've got the job!

(Pssst, how much extra does it cost to get a *right* judgment? I mean, considering you volunteered to do it for free and all.)

Let's keep that parenthesesed part under our hats, capiche?
17 months ago: I was planning only on telling people that they are wrong. That's its own reward.

(I guess I could do give a *right* judgment for double the usual cost.)
17 months ago: Can't disagree with you there!!!! We've got folks on here that do nothing but tell people they are wrong! Constantly and with much venom to boot!

Only catch is, there might be someone out there that can prove that YOU are the one who is wrong and do it with tons of proof, real proof, not imaginary stuff or even made up facts but stuff even you can't refute.

Good luck with it though, we'll be watching......
17 months ago: I am dead wrong.
17 months ago: You want me to refute that?

17 months ago: Like you, I used to think that I was always right. But then one day I discovered an error I had made: One time I thought that I had been wrong about a matter, but after careful consideration of the facts, I found that thought to be in error. So, I changed my mind. Then, having changed my mind, I had to conclude that I was not always right.

Maybe one day you'll discover that the error wasn't an error; than you can buy this bumper sticker I saw:

"I was wrong once but I found out I was right so I was wrong"
