I was born with no users manual so most of the things I know I have learned through the lessons imparted through the trial and errors of others that have come before me. Some of these lessons are outdated and served only a specific epoch while others are timeless and are still useful to this very day. Most of us don't remember the first time we became aware of our hands. But ask a diligent parent and they will reminisce fondly of that day when their infants obsession became that limb closest to his or her own face, the hand.

The curious tike did not know what purpose this appendage served. But that did not stop him from trying to put it to some use. He would wave it and swing it around. He would look at it and try to put it in his mouth, all the while keeping his tiny digits tightly furled. Never once did the inquisitive baby at first suspect that this tightly bundled appendage which he seemed to have such little control over could one day assist him in controlling the whole world around him.

Why did God give us hands? It is not hard to surmise the answer given the amount of experience one has already accumulated with them but this answer is not easy when we were just infants. That is why it is a good thing that babies don't spend to much time asking why and spend most of their time trying things out. The fascinating thing about watching a baby learn is how quickly they switch from random experimentation to a decisive and assertive repetition once they know a body parts intended use. Babies don't continue to experiment with walking styles once they find a way to walk that works.

So why did God give me hands? I suppose it is to grab. Do I grab like others do? The answer is for the most part yes but some times I don't. But ultimately I grab. Which is why I am so puzzled by those people whom choose to misuse their body parts. I can walk on my hands but why would I want too? I f my feet are better equipped to do the job then why do it. If I misuse my hands doesn't it affect my arms and legs as well? Doesn't it ultimately negate the usefulness of my hands? Which I guess is my point. Why did God give me hands?
