Who Would Jesus Smack Down? Isn't that the question we all ask ourselves? Or if Oral Sex is OK? Drugs etc... well Mark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, just might have the answer for those nagging queries. Not your Mama's preacher... Driscoll commands attention from friend and foe alike; called the "cussing pastor" ...looking for strait talk, Mark's your Man!
New York Times Magazine article on Mark Driscoll has MORE to say about that...
read this article to get a take on what I mean...
"Mark Driscoll's sermons are mostly too racy to post on GodTube, the evangelical Christian "family friendly" video-posting Web site. With titles like "Biblical Oral Sex" and "Pleasuring Your Spouse,"
his clips do not stand a chance against the site's content filters."
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/11/magazi...Mark is a well-read strait-talking communicator of truth... not your "95 pound weakling" by no means. Driscoll is the latest in flat-out no holds barred butt kickers... attracting the attention of those sleeping Christians, and Bible-dodgers alike. If one was to describe this in REAL cooking terms... it would be like Emeril's -BAMM! KICK IT UP A NOTCH!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oyHtsU5z...I like Mark's take on most everything except Calvinism... there are a few differences that seem more semantics than anything, but it's about time youth have some strait talk about relevant issues in their lives... people just won't stand for boring any longer. Another thing is that "everything positive" really makes most people puke, and they need a message that will speak to the real problems and choices they face everyday.
One thing you can NOT say about Mark Driscoll is that he's timid... sporting an attitude larger that he is... coming off somewhat arrogant, if he doesn't get under your skin immediately... you are probably just as whacked is he is! I think the world needs more bold take-life-by-the-horns examples... it takes all types...
...it's just too bad, Driscoll's type wasn't there when I was a youth!
I have a saying... "Be humble... or be humiliated!" In my life it has been both of those things that have been the teachable moments that have allowed me to discover God. Too many times I thought I was in control of my life... just long enough to make a terrific mess, it's all fun and games until someone looses a friend or future. Life has a way of keeping us real, we don't like hitting the wall... and it always seems to come as some surprise when it happens, but WHEN we do... it is good to know that God is there too.
[Best thing I like about Mark, is that Jesus would be caught dead for the likes of him !:]
