As one of our fellow Rant Rave contributors (Chris D) pointed out a week ago. The ‘We Are the World 2010’ makes its premier tonight on NBC.
When the original ‘We Are the World’ was produced over 25 years ago, the music video was thrown together very quickly. The production of that music video took over a month to complete.
The remake of ‘We Are the World’ which has the participation of people like Pink, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, the Black Eyed Peas, Tony Bennett, Jeff Bridges, Bono, Justin Beiber and many more, was filmed in 3-D and was completed in about a week.
Tonight, Friday evening during the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics ‘We Are the World 25’ will premiere. Though it will be entertaining to watch 80 plus stars crammed tight together, pull off a organized, musical chorus as stunning as the original ‘We Are the World’ 25 years ago, the focus is still on making the world aware that the donations are still needed to assist Haiti in it’s recovery.
Fans will be able to download to donate, as the music and video will be available immediately after the premiere. By downloading the song on iTunes your money for it will be donated to the We Are the World Foundation.
The video attached comes from an Entertainment Tonight segment on the recording.
