Treasonous American Adam Gadahn Arrested

Adam Gadahn, an American spokesman for al Qaeda, has been arrested in Pakistan. News of the arrest came a few short hours after a Gadahn
Video was released where Gadahn praised the November shooting rampage at the U.S. Army base in Fort Hood, Texas.

Adam Gadahn, a California-born convert to Islam and the first American to be charged with treason since the World War Two era, has appeared in al Qaeda videos posted on the Internet threatening the United States with violence.

I hope the U.S. Embassy has a hard time answering the phone when he calls for intervention. Seems that it might be best if the Pakistani Government gets to ask him a few questions before being tried in the U.S.

Direct from the Constitution of the United States of America.

He clearly meets the qualifications of the first part...and assuming the second, more important part (proof) is met then he should most certainly be punished to full extent allowed for the crime.

23 months ago: This will present some interesting legal precedents. The Rosenburgs were the only people executed, and they were tried in a civil trial, but they were not charged with espionage or treason because we were officially allies with the Soviet Union during WWII.

They were convicted in the court of public opinion during the height of McCarthyism and anti-communist hysteria and paranoia. You folk would have felt right at home then.

The US Federal government has murdered thru their dictator puppets, millions of Latinos in Latin America. And that includes women and children.

These killings of women and children has happened in every country where they have done a regime change.

23 months ago: TRH that is pretty large jump in logic of you condoning the voice of terrorist organization; al Qaeda members because you think the USA is a bunch of murders anyways. Plus saying your country the same country your exercising your freedom of speech with has quote on quote killed more people than Hitler. For one it is appalling in that your trivializing the holocaust and two you think their is a make believe war on American civilians.

It is one thing to say our Rights are being treaded on and to take action by getting involved politically, that is the avenue I take.

..but calling it a war on civilians is well saying their is absolutely no hope and you condone the terrorists to fix our problems with extreme action to teach us a lesson..

Would that mean he crossed the Constitutional line if proven by all of his taped/youtube video messages witnesses by two or more? Or, are you saying that treason is a 'High Crime" against the Constitution and needs two accusers?

Well it would depend on whether or not it is actually him on the tapes. If it is then there would need to be a confession or 2 witnesses to the act of making said films.

There is a key difference between accuser and witness. Think about the Kobe Bryant situation. He was ACCUSED of a crime, nobody WITNESSED it.

Of course he will want them to prove it is him on the tape...thats the way the world works. In this country we use a system of justice that is based entirely on the idea of innocent until PROVEN guilty.

Treason is such a serious crime that it is outlined in the Constitution on how it is to be defined and how people are to be convicted. The U.S. code outlines the penalty of this Constitutional crime.

TCG I am not sure The U.S. Code TITLE 18 PART I CHAPTER 115 § 2381 would apply to Gadahn anyway because we never declared war against the Taliban, they never attacked us, and Gadahn can just claim he was helping the Afghans to repel foreign invaders.
