You know what sounds good for a snack? A spiral-cut potato, skewered, and deep-fried – top it with some ketchup, ranch, barbecue sauce, or cheese. Yum.
They call it the Tornado Potato, and it’s coming to a fair near you. The twisty tornado fries were first created as a street vendor’s snack in Seoul, South Korea. But they’ll be the hot item at state fairs all over the U.S. this summer, I guarantee you.
My favorite fair food is the mango smoothies they have at the Thai food stands, but I think I’ll be trying a Tornado Potato this year. It'd have to be really good to unseat the mango, but I'm willing to try it out.
I wonder if I can convince the wife to try one? The Tornado fries look fun to eat – but she usually avoids deep-fried stuff. She almost gagged when I tried to get her to eat a corn dog a few months ago.
Anyway, check out the Tornado Potato stand at your local fair this year.
