To crack or not to crack, that's the question

How many times in the morning, you have said to yourself," I am bored with the oval shaped egg, wouldn't it be great to have a square egg." Well now you can. My caption shows a square egg maker. So impress you friends with square eggs on toast.

Since the start of civilisation people, it has been very common, if you decide to have two eggs for breakfast. To tap both eggs at the the top and to argue the point,"It's to stop the other egg from going hard.

So when you arise in the morning and make yourself two boiled eggs. When they have both been cooked, do you crack the second one, at the same time, as the first egg, to stop it from cooking, by releasing the steam?

The shell of an egg is porous, so there cannot be any steam in the egg, having removed egg from hot water.

So it's a scientific fact that you do not tap your second egg on the head with a spoon until you have finished the first one.

It's good to know that someone, beside myself, don't take square eggs for granted.

Occasionally I scramble my eggs with hash brown potatoes (southern style, in little cubes) and chorizo Mexican sausage, roll it up in a freshly cooked flour tortilla with Pace salsa and chow down.

Never been one for boiled eggs - unless they have been split in two, the yolk mixed with mustard, mayo, pickle relish and some spices and the resultant mixture spooned onto/into the egg white halves.

But each to his/her/its own I reckon.

You can actually bounce it lightly off the counter top. Then, I suppose, if you could find a chemical that would re-harden the egg shell, you could place it in a square mold for the hardening process.
Although I've softened a few eggs like that, I never tried eating it afterward.
