Al, Siempre and the rest of those espouse that cow farts, among other things, are leading to our ultimate demise.

Despite the apparent absurdity, they insist there is a scientific consensus that this global whatchamakallit is happening, and we capitalists are clearly to blame.

One definition of consensus is a "general agreement or concord; harmony".

Well, I invite them to splain to my simple mind how the scientists being quoted in the following article in harmony with the UN's scientists.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article7026317.ece

He points out not only are the weather stations they are relying upon corrupt, but the earth's temperatures normally fluctuate.

Al, Siempre, etc., you guys can keep on with your position, but will you please quit saying there is a consensus of scientists that cow farts are causing global warming?

Pretty please?

I enjoyed the lecture. I sincerely hope that Christy is right and that the change won't be as bad as everyone thinks. Yes I can see that there is room for doubt, but as they said in the end of your link, the research equipment is becoming more sophisticated and satellite data is being used that back up the basic research.
What I keep coming up with is worst case scenarios. If the enviros are right, we absolutely have to act. If the doubters are right we might save a bit of money in the near term if we did nothing, but in the long term we would be better off moving away from fossil fuels anyway. Ain't anything wrong with a clean energy efficient world.

Even though I'm on my soap box, I never intend on lecturing.

I'm all against pollution, and fossil fuels are fine.

The climate fluctuates, and there is nothing we can do about it. We do not have the ability to affect the climate.

Also, let's go back in the time machine and see where I peppered Al in his attempt to promote the global warming meltdown scenario as absolute fact while hysterically suggesting that we needed to start building dikes around New York and start moving folk out of Florida.

Al, I'm still here in Florida and I haven't started building Noah's Ark II yet - can you give me a timeline here; when exactly are these melted Arctic iceberg flows coming to Orlando?
