I asked God to take away my desire to overeat -- He told me to "turn to Him and away from my sin." In other words, the first two steps were mine. The second half of James 4:7 tells us, "Resist the devil and he will flee from you."

It's the first part of that verse that causes us most of the trouble: "Submit yourselves to God." One of the most important things to realize in our Christian walk is in order to draw upon God's awesome power, we must first be submitted to Him completely.

This Word alone gives you all of the answers of life, and your relationship with a Holy God. I encourage you friends to be doers of the Word and not only hearers. This time and place is not our eternal home, I would play this Word over and over until it goes deep into you Spirit.

14 months ago: What the Word is saying is that if you want God to help you to achieve your goals is that you have to take a step of faith, if you take that first step, he will help you to move forward and be successful, the difference with Christianity is that we serve a living God.

I have been successful at almost everything I have done, and believe me. I am far from being a genus. The reason for my success is that I am a doer.

Here is a good example, I tried to quit smoking without success. One day I had an asthmatic attack, I could not speak so I drove slowly to the emergency, as I lay on the bed and the doctors were trying to get me to breath, they said, this is not working, let's try something else.

I prayed Lord, if you heal me, I promise you that I would never put a cigarette to my lips. from that day, I have kept my word. The Asama went away including the pain in my chest.

By the way eating to much, is an addiction, I don't eat in the day much, but I love to snack in the night, I have it under control, no way am I going to buy new clothes, if I take the first step as a believer He will enable me.
14 months ago: I just completed a Daniel Fast and it taught me a lot about my eating habits. But not just eating, but my habits in general.

Nothing like a good fast to put ones priorities back in order.

Our body is not us. It is simply the house we live in. Our mind and our spirit are to dominate our flesh. The spirit needs to be recognized and our minds need to be renewed.

When we live for a purpose higher that ourselves, we've made a step in the right direction.

"Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. "
