We probably know already what's coming to the table but anyway we will shed some light on the subject a sharp challenge to the gop the president proposed paying for his costly new jobs plan Monday with tax hikes that republicans have already emphatically rejected the reception to his new proposal was no more welcoming setting the stage for a likely new fight with congress flanked at the white house by workers he said the legislation would help Obama declared this is the bill that congress needs to pass no games no politics no delays he sent it to capitol hill saying the only thing that's stopping it is politics .The presidents proposal drew criticism from house speaker john boehner, who'd previously responded in cautious but somewhat receptive tones to the$447 billion jobs plan made up of tax cuts and new spending that Obama first proposed in address to congress last Thursday it would be fair to say this tax increase on job creators is the kind of proposal both parties have opposed in the past we remain eager to work together on ways to support job growth but this proposal doesn't appear to have been offered in that bipartisan spirit Boehner spokesman Brendan back said the biggest piece of the payment plan would raise about $400 billion by eliminating certain deductions including charitable contributions that can be claimed by the wealthy taxpayers so I think we can wait to see what happens.

The Republicans want to coddle the rich and don't give a damn about jobs, the people or the nation. They just want to defeat Obama.

The Republicans object to the rich and corporations paying their fair share because they say those people create the jobs - except they have been getting these tax breaks for 13 years now and they haven't upheld their end of the contract. They haven't created jobs.

So instead of just throwing more money at the rich, hoping some crumbs will trickle down, Obama is giving many tax cuts to small businesses that are targeted at creating jobs. It would also allow people to use their unemployment to start small businesses, and give everyone a $1500 tax break so the regular people can spend more which creates Demand. Most of the companies are sitting on $2.5 trillion in cash and making record profits, but won't hire till there is more demand.
8 months ago: Why nobody proposes taxing everybody the same? The rich should not be treated differently. They should pay the same taxes as everybody else. If you start punishing them by taxing them more, you will just give them incentive to move their business and jobs out of United States.

It would be easy to create a job plan that works, but you would first have to change ALL the politicians and make some changes in the current system!

One, change all the rules for small business exemptions from regulations by doubling the maximum number of employees you can have for the exemption. There are a number of regulations that apply only to businesses with fewer than 10 employees so why not make that number 20? Other regulations apply only to businesses with more than 50 employees so why not make that 100?
This would provide incentive for small businesses to expand.

Two, establish a commission to recommend federal practices that ought to be eliminated on the grounds that we don't need them, or never needed them in the first place. The commissioners should not be government employees, and ought to be paid no more than $150 a day consulting fee and $50 a day expenses. Three members should be appointed by the President, three by the Speaker, and three by the President pro tem of the Senate. Any federal position that a majority of the commission recommends for elimination automatically gets unfunded unless explicitly refunded by the Congress. If Congress doesn't restore the position, that position is redundant and that task is no longer performed.

It would be a slow job, but it would be making a change!

Because the wealthy spent a lot of money creating the Tea Party and buying elections.
8 months ago: You are obviously right, at least regarding buying the elections. Since Obama came to power, only those earning over $100,000 saw an increase in their income. Everybody else is rapidly approaching that dreaded poverty line!

Obvious example of actions speaking louder than words...

If you don't like the effect
Don't produce the cause
(x3)

You say you don't like where you're at (yeah)
You can make a change
If you accept the blame
Stay in control of your reactions, yes
Will determine the effect
Of any situation

You have the power to negate
Any obstacle or feeling
That prohibits you to think
A situation is just that
It has no special power
To do you harm
It's your reactions that count

If you don't like the effect
Don't produce the cause
(x2)

You say you don't like what your country's about (yeah)
Ain't you deep
In your semi-first class seat
You picket this and protest that
And eat yourself fat
Ain't you deep
In your semi-first class seat

If you don't like the effect
Don't produce the cause
(x4)

You say you don't like what your country's about (yeah)
Ain't you deep
In your semi-first class seat
You picket this and protest that
And eat yourself fat

Ain't you deep
In your semi-first class seat
La la la la-la, la la la la
