I was glad to see Glen Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally. I was glad to see that everyone decided to be peaceful and that they didn't carry any hateful signs this time.
During this rally Beck asked his followers to "concentrate on the good things in America, the things that we have accomplished—and the things that we can do tomorrow,"
I am delighted to see this since the movement had previously been concentrating on the negative and was obstructionist instead of trying to accomplish anything that would help the country. There has been a lot of good things being done in the country but Beck and his minions had demonized everything Obama and the Democrats have done as being inherently bad. Maybe now they will judge legislation by its merits instead of being purely partisan.
Beck also said: "We must get the poison of hatred out of us," he said at one point. "We must defend those who disagree with us."
I applaud this apparent new direction that Beck is steering his loyal followers. Now maybe they will sit down and figure out how to fix the mess and work with the Democrats to get something done.
http://cbs2chicago.com/national/glen.bec...Before the rally Beck had also apologized for calling Obama a racist. Beck admitted he was wrong to make such inflammatory and disturbing allegations against the President of the USA.
I think this is also a very good new direction for Beck and I hope his followers take up his call to honor the office of the president with respect.
Beck also said: "I misunderstood his philosophy and his theology, which is liberation theology." "people aren't recognizing [President Obama's] version of Christianity." I think this is also a positive development. It should put an end to the nonsensical 18% who think that Obama is a Muslim. Martin Luther king's theology was "Liberation Theology.
http://www.examiner.com/progressive-in-p...When Obama was running for the office he was demonized as everything from the anti Christ and was compared to Hitler. It is refreshing now to see Glen Beck comparing him to MLK one of the nation's heroes.
The right still tends to demonize the Democrats and often resort to invective, and obstructionism, instead of putting forth positive plans to reduce the deficit and pay off the National Debt. Perhaps this new change in direction is simply an indication that most Americans consider the Right to be too radical. Perhaps they are putting on this newer mellower face just for the election.
Perhaps Beck is just taking orders from his boss Rupert Murdoch who is "Going Green" . Murdoch recently said: "I have to admit that, until recently, I was somewhat wary of the (global) warming debate. I believe it is now our responsibility to take the lead on this issue."
Now that the science and the proof of global warming has become concrete, Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation is at the forefront of global companies that are working to change the way we treat the planet.
http://www.woopidoo.com/biography/rupert...I wonder if Fox News will soon start supporting Obama and the Democratic Party?
It is about time they restore honor to their movement.
