It appears as of late Terrell Owens has finally found the end of the proverbial road when it comes to finding a place to play this year at least in the NFL. I have read blogs suggesting that teams should not overlook his talent, as with many teams I am positive that one year of good behavior in Buffalo since they did not keep him is not very impressive in and of itself.
Of course, he is not the only aging player having trouble this season of free agency having a tough time to find a place to land. Nevertheless, he is most certainly the one who leaves many to shudder at the thought of him coming into a locker room and truly acting like a total team player. After all no diva often changes their behavior even when they have clearly reached their prime.
He may still have the talent in some peoples' eyes but I am not impressed, as we, all know in the NFL it takes more than talent to get by these days especially as the salaries are on the rise while the income levels and contract negotiations are on the downturn. There are likely only a few teams that might show interest in him but he is not likely to go there or be willing to play for league minimums just to get a chance to get back on the field.
After the Browns passed on him there weren't even rumors that any other teams have shown a hint of interest and unless things are truly in trouble in certain areas he isn't likely to get picked up. I doubt even in Oakland where the Raiders are struggling somewhat they would take on Owens especially since Al Davis seems to be on the end of a illustrious career as team owner, coach and mentor to the Raider nation.
At some point players, bouncing around teams each season especially once they pass the thirty-year-old mark is unlikely to work in their favor unless teams become desperate to fill a roster position. Given the money spent on younger, faster and healthier athletes those in Owens position despite his treating his body like a temple would likely fit into the scheme on many teams anymore as well.
I would imagine that T.O. has a better chance of going back to college, working with a youth football league as a coach/mentor than he does of donning a NFL uniform this year of course there is always the Canadian Football League who just might pick him up on the cheap if he gets truly desperate.
