AHH it's about time, Tata Motors is now saying their little tiny, REALLY CHEAP ($2000) car will be arriving here in the U.S. in July (Cite 1). Watch out Detroit/Berlin/Tokyo! Personally, i feel this car is exactly what this country needs right now. And hey, if it is a piece of crap, who cares, because for two grand you can get a new one every year.
Also, according to CTV, the car was just launched in its native country, India, today (Cite 2).
The car will only be sold this year in limited release. The cars will be available on a lottery basis, under 100,000 will be available to American customers this year (Cite 1).
I didn't see any stats for American fuel economy, but looking at the pictures, i'll bet it'll be good (like smart car).
