Stimulus Better Than Expected

The Stimulus Bill has been much more effective in creating new jobs than anyone could have expected. The $18 million website Recovery.gov reports that in the Arizona 9th Congressional District, 30 jobs have been created using only $761,240 in Federal spending. In the 86th district of Arizona, the $34,000,000.00, in federal funds have also shown great rewards.

So I take it back, the Stimulus Bill is working to create, not only jobs, but also Congressional Districts. You see, there are only 8 Districts in Arizona.

Here's another: More than $36 million in stimulus funds spent between the 69th and 99th districts of the Northern Mariana Islands -- a self-governing US territory that gets only one (non-voting) representative in the House.

There is a whole list of these manufactured statistics, with more coming out every day. ABC News reporter Matthew Jaffe says that the administration was forced to remove over 60,000 jobs from its tallies due to false claims and unrealistic data.

For an administration that has claimed to be scrupulous in accounting surrounding everything connected to the stimulus, mistakes like these contribute to suspicions that counting jobs “saved or created” is more art than science.

The picture used is one of the signs used to tell us that our government funds are at work. Cost per sign; $1700.00 to $3000.00 Georgia alone will spend over $291,000 on signs to remind everyone we are in a recession and that we need our government to bail us out.

27 months ago: What would happen if we did a slight little conversion to the expected answers?

What if we did a login and added a correct district with a NEGATIVE number for the landscapers we have had to cut (not a pun) from working on our personal yards. Are those not Jobs lost? Right I forgot. They never were jobs as they are not members of S.E.I.U. and are awaiting formal entry into the United States. Just like all of those that have been found in houses of people in the government which have neglected to pay the government required taxes on those employees while also taking the tax breaks.

Hey Barry, I have a question.
While climbing up to the top of the "wall of china" and noticing how it seemed like Chicago. Do you know how much of a total incompetant your satatement made you?

Just wondering Bearry. Grrrrrr.

27 months ago: to be honest, i really like those signs. It feels good to see them when I'm driving down a newly paved road and see it.

It gives americans something tangible, not just a bunch of squints with numbers.
27 months ago: You didn't comment on all of the people you passed that were working on the project. How do you know that the signs were not posted after the road was paved? Did you see the signs before or during the paving? NOT.

Window dressing.
27 months ago: Reinvestment is great. Spending on infrastructure is great. But lets address the 800 lb gorilla in the room here. If and when those projects start, or actually get stimulus money....Does anyone here have any experience in road or bridge repair? Nooooooo. Who does that help? Unions.
