Should we forgive Bin Laden?

I have just finished watching, CNN Presents "In the footsteps of bin Laden" this Verse describes him.

Genesis 16:12 "And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him".

After looking at the special, we would like to embrace the God of the Old Testament Psalm 18; is what I am referring to.

"There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly; Yea, he soared upon the wings of the wind.

He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion round about him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, Hailstones and coals of fire.

Jehovah also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered his voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.

And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; Yea, lightning's manifold, and discomfited them.

Then the channels of waters appeared, And the foundations of the world were laid bare, At thy rebuke, O Jehovah, At the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

He rescued me from mine enemies; Yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man."

However we are commanded to love your enemies, and to forgive them, the Lord says, Vengeance is mine.

Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Rom 12:19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

Why? We who are in the flesh, cannot come to God in the condition of being revengeful, we have to crucify the flesh and to be vessels of love to be Holy, as He is Holy.

God is giving the wicked a lot of rope, so that their true hearts are revealed, when all the wicked come against He chosen people Israel, that when Psalm 16; kicks in.

Ezekiel 38:8-16 this invasion involves a coalition by Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan in Ezekiel 38:5-6 adds that other nations will join with Gog, Iran, Ethiopia, Sudan, Libya and Turkey and Saudi Arabia. God will miraculously deliver Israel with overwhelming force, using a great earthquake confusion and infighting amongst tin invading troops, disease torrential rain, hailstones, fire and burning sulfur Ezekiel; 39:1-2:, 28:19-20, 38:21, 38:16 "so that the nations may know Me when I and sanctified through you before their eyes. And the nations will know that I am the Lord the Holy One in Israel.

God wants you to receive His gift of Salvation, and get to Heaven for eternity, don't worry about the wild donkeys, the Lord will take care of everything.

12 months ago: Good post Ed. Volatile topic.

I had been waiting to see what would develop. Looks like some folks just don't want to deal with this particular issue.

There is nowhere in the bible where we are called on to forgive Satan. Many equate the actions of Bin Laden to that of Satan.

If I had a friend or a loved one who perished on Sept 11th, it would be a tall order to forgive the man. Even though he is dead already the pain and hurt would still be there.

However, in order to move on with life, we cannot harbor anger, bitterness and unforgiveness against anyone. That includes Bin Laden.

Any unforgiveness held long-term against him and his like would end up killing us just as he and they have killed others. This death would be slow but just as sure.

We have to do what we must, to defend ourself, and as far as Satan is concerned the Blood of Jesus, is our best defense against him, but he is already defected when Jesus rose from the grave.

We who are in the flesh can't deal with hate and love at the same time, that's why God say's don't hate the person who kidnapped your daughter, I will take care of him and her. She will be in Heaven and he will be in Hell, but we should not be complacent in defending our-selfs, my house is like Fort Knox
12 months ago: Satan goal is to take as many humans to Hell with him, if he can get us to hate him, then our minds will lose the love of God, and overspill to our relationship with other people, we will have intence hate towards other drivers, and evil doers, we will not be able to win them to salvation with love as so Satan will win, we to who are in Christ may also be in danger.
That's why the Lord say's leave it to me.

James 1:20 If you are angry, you cannot do any of the good things that God wants done.

You must stop doing anything immoral or evil. Instead be humble and accept the message that is planted in you to save you.

If Satan can keep Christians from storing God's Word, their prime weapon against him is gone. If he can cause a mind to flit among the trash and trivia of our day, it will be useless to the Holy Spirit. Since satan has the power to introduce ideas, mental wandering is accomplished easily.

The mind, also the channel for the Spirit of God, is quickly blocked with foolish imaginations and notions. Can we understand Peter's concern now? "Gird up the loins of your mind," he says. And why? It has to be ready to move fast. An adversary lurks who can plant ideas faster than an arrow leaves the bow. So, "Be sober," he warns. "Be vigilant, for your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion goeth about seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8)
