Scientology is one of the few religions I know of which promises to bestow on its followers what are commonly referred to by comic book readers as well as television and movie fans, superpowers. The Scientologists actually call them "super powers" too, just google "super power building" or "super power rundown" for some interesting reading.

So here it is, for your enjoyment, my seven favorite scientology super-powers. (Please bear in mind that according to Church of Scientology Religious Services Enrollment Application section 2c you can't take anything LRH said seriously.)

$cientology super-power #1 - A Scientologist can make you feel hot:
“When a thetan discharges energy, another person may feel hot.”
Scientology 8-80 page 110

$cientology super-power #2 - A Scientologist can heal himself or others:
“Healing at a glance is done by a thetan, not interiorized, making perfect duplicates of the illness of a body without perfectly duplicating the body itself.”
The Creation of Human Ability page 136

“The thetan can clean up and heal his own body and those of others at will.”
Scientology 8-80 page 111

$cientology super-power #3 - A Scientologist can convince inanimate objects not to get stolen:
“Operating Thetan should be able to fix and unfix ideas in energy, i.e., to be able to fix into a car an idea that “it can’t be stolen,” and it won’t be.”
The Creation of Human Ability page 376

$cientology super-power #4 - A Scientologist can make you see illusions, and move objects with his mind:
“The state of Cleared Theta Clear is, however, another thing. For it means a person who is able to create his own universe or, living in the MEST universe, is able to create illusions perceivable by others at will, to handle MEST universe objects without mechanical means and to have and feel no need of bodies or even the MEST universe to keep himself and his friends interested in existence.”
Scientology 8-8008 page 175

“After a very large amount of auditing, even as much as fifty hours (when the preclear has regained his ability to create, with considerable solidity, his own illusions), it will be found that the preclear can at will perceive the MEST universe and can do so with accuracy. He can further (without the aid of a body) move objects, heal at a distance and do a thousand other “interesting tricks” which could very well be viewed with considerable awe. For they have not been seen on earth in recorded history, but have lived in legend.”
Scientology 8-8008 page 170

“An Operating Thetan, then, is one who can handle things without having to use a body of physical means. “Poltergeist” is a learned term for only one of the phenomena of this state.”
Scientology 0-8 page 425

$cientology super-power #5 - A Scientologist can control other bodies:
“…the awareness of awareness unit can control or even make physical bodies…”
Dianetics 55! page 50

$cientology super-power #6 - A Scientologist can create a measurable flow of energy at a distance:
“It goes further and demonstrates that the awareness of awareness unit can bring about, without further contact, an energy flow in a body at a distance. This is a very startling demonstration, and is one of the more significant electrical discoveries of recent times. The conditions of the experiment are sufficiently rigorous to dispel any doubt, in the mind of a physicist, concerning the authenticity of the current.”
Dianetics 55! page 28

$cientology super-power #7 - A Scientologist is bulletproof:
“…one might go so far as to say that a bullet's arrival is a heavy sort of hypnotism. The individual receiving a bullet does not outflow a bullet and thus he is injured. If he could outflow a bullet immediately after receiving a bullet, we could introduce the interesting question: "Would he be wounded?" According to our rule he would not be. Indeed, if he were in perfect communication with his environment, he could not even receive a bullet injuriously…”
Dianetics 55! page 105

38 months ago: The books you have quoted are excellent, but you are a master of reading things out of context.

Scientologists don't deny that they gain abilities through Scientology.
38 months ago: Jack I disagree, for the most part, most of his interpretations are pretty sound when compared to the text.

Great article Chef!
38 months ago: Being an OTVIII myself, I've yet to gain these powers myself, but that's because I didn't try hard enough in my studies. Either way, hundreds of thousands of more dollars should be enough to take the courses all over again and try again.

I'm committed to Scientology to the end.
38 months ago: they should add the power to steal other people's powers like Gabriel or Peter from NBC's "Heroes." That would be cool.
38 months ago: $cienos have spent millions of dollars to develop Super Powers and what do they have for all their money? ONE Super Power temporary auditing room at Oak Cove high rise in Clearwater, Florida. Of course, the cult IS finally working on the Super Power/Mecca Building again so all you culties cough up millions more and maybe, just maybe, you'll get a couple more Super Power auditing rooms within the next couple of years!
A cultie CAN dream!

38 months ago: Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, has an "ice breath" super power.
Jesus, leader of the Christians, has masterful carpentry skills.
Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, has the power of flame.
Buddha, the enlightened spiritual teacher, has the power of invisibility, but he doesn't really believe in evil.
Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism, can become one with inanimate objects.
Krishna, the Hindu deity, can transform into animals.
Sea Man, with the ability to breath underwater and to communicate mentally with fish.

Even though they are individually powerful, they must work together to defeat Scientology.

38 months ago: So would you like to demonstrate some of these abilities, Jack? A non-doctored YouTube link would be fine :)
38 months ago: Ooh, Superpowers... I like.. So, lets see these in action, lets have Miscavage, live on TV, in front of world leaders, make an electrical current flow into something that A NEUTRAL BODY brought in, untampered with, if possible fresh from the factory, and have it dismantled live afterwards to prove no tampering...

38 months ago: Awww, Anonymous7777, can't we just stick to demanding Tom Cruise levitate?
38 months ago: Tom Cruise can't fly and he can't act either.

38 months ago: Hey Jack, clue up. In the 2006 IAS event video, David Miscavige says, "We may not have superpowers...YET." and the audience titters knowingly.

John Travolta did a heckuva job reviving his tard kid Jett, didn't he? Pounding on him yelling, "LIVE SON, LIVE!" is one good demonstration of OT Powahs at work.

Oh, wait. Jett died. Nevermind...
38 months ago: and they couldn't save Lisa McPherson from cockroach bites, or Kaja Bollo from offing herself after she took one of their 'free stress tests'

38 months ago: Those are great ones. My favourite has always been "Control knowing and at will over matter energy space time life and thought". As-ising is a good one too.
38 months ago: Meh, Tom Cruise could act before he taken into the cult. Pre-crazy Tom Cruise was a kinda cool guy.
38 months ago: wow. gosh. whew. golly. gee whillikers. gol-dum. dang! Spee-dangled! Flashy! Woot!
38 months ago: Terryeo, do you have any intention of acquiring these powers or belief that they are possible? He is quoting your belief system's literature directly, after all.

For comparison's sake, Christianity lays claims to equally startling powers, such as the ability to heal with a touch. So do you believe in Scientology powers to the same degree that Christians believe Christ's disciples could heal?
38 months ago: I don't think many christians now a days believe in the power to heal with touch. I am a christian and of all the sermons i have gone to and stuff, being able to heal ppl nowadays hasn't come up. We believe that Jesus could do it but hey, he had the advantage of being the son of god.

"wow. gosh. whew. golly. gee whillikers. gol-dum. dang! Spee-dangled! Flashy! Woot!" Terryeo impression of a scientologist when they see the cost of all their classes and teachings added together.
37 months ago: Some of those qualities can happen and actually I saw "in action" number 5 and 6.
One point to clear is that man is not "just a body" he is a spirt and spiritual phenomena do occour to any one of us. Then if he is also a scientologist he will start to be more and more cause as a being and be able to cause things.
Another point to clear is that a "spirit", "being" or "thetan" as is called in Scientology becames the effect of his own decisions....
He if believes that he is "just a body" he will only be able to produce the effects a body can produce....

37 months ago: If you or he can repeat these events in a laboratory I will totally believe you and issue a retraction and cook you dinner.

So far, no one has ever been able to demonstrate them scientifically.

If you cannot repeat these feats in a laboratory, I have no reason to believe you were not hallucinating at the time you think you saw them happen.
37 months ago: Perhaps, Mr. Xenu, you will spend your efforts to develop instrumentation which can measure these things. So far, we don't seem to have earthly instruments to measure these things to your satisfaction. Good luck in achieving that. Myself, I'm convinced an individual can produce energy and cause effects with it in the physical universe. But nothing as solid as driving a nail.

37 months ago: "Myself, I'm convinced an individual can produce energy and cause effects with it in the physical universe."

Yeah, Stephen King has written several novels based around that notion. But that's fiction, and you believe in it. Like the OTs who think they can affect the MEST universe with their amazing powerzz, and write up Big Win reports about their ability to control traffic lights, put out fires, fall down stairs. They just sound bat**** insane. Keep working your way up that Bridge, Terryeo, and you, too, can become certifiable!

I'm not sure what time period you think we are living in. FrankG said he has seen #5 (controlling or making physical bodies) and #6 (inducing a measurable current in an object at a distance.. Those are and and have long been easily testable.

Have you never heard of a multi-meter? We use them to measure voltage, resistance, and yes even CURRENT! We even use them to measure the current in objects at a distance from the reader.

Have you never heard of a motion detector? Or a scale or balance? These would make it quite simple to determine if a body had been created or moved.

The reason these powers have never been demonstrated using such simple scientific test equipment, could it be because the powers are imaginary? Because I can assure the test equipment is quite real.

37 months ago: I have personally had some very strange experiences that have made me believe without a doubt that I am a spiritual being with more capabilities than I currently have, however, I haven't had confirmation on all these abilities. However, OT VII deals with all the negative sides to all the dynamics. The positive 'abilities' I am sure are contained in the other 7 OT levels that have yet to be released. In anycase, showboating, or having to prove these things is not what Scientology is about. Does it really matter what the limitation of the human experience can be? What is important is that we, as a society can live without drugs, war and insanity. Eventually, we will evolve to a stat were we can trust eachother fully and have peace.

37 months ago: I have personally had some very strange experiences that have made me believe without a doubt that I have been abducted by aliens. However, I haven’t had confirmation on all these abductions. However, tequila deals with all the negative sides to all the dynamics. The positive ‘probings’ I am sure happened the other times have yet to be released to a medical review board. In anycase, begging for attention, or having to prove these things is not what my abductions stories are about. Does it really matter what the limitation of my abduction incidences can be? What is important is that we, as a society can live without probings, abductions, and alien sodomy. Eventually, we will evolve and kill aliens fully and have peace.
