Yes or No?

Ok, Here's a fun little exercise.

Just for fun, I'm conducting a poll of Rantrave members.

It will be a simple, non-scientific poll concerning the health care bill poised on Capitol Hill.

The question is simple. Are you for or against the passage of the Health Care Bill as it stands now?

Yes, no, or undecided?

If you would like, you can also leave a brief explanation of why you are for or against it, but no arguing with one another, or correcting what you believe to be someone else's wrong-headedness.

Come on, it'll be fun.

UPDATE - 23 months ago
OK, almost twenty four hours into the poll, total results:

Nay....7

Yea....0

Did not vote....41

We've got until Sunday afternoon to weigh in.

I vote no.

The Bill has too many secrets, won't work financially.

23 months ago: No to the bill.

Based on Hawaii and Massachusetts' health care system, it will cost more and offer less.

It's a failure, even by Democrat standards. Their $1 trillion bill still leaves millions without coverage.
23 months ago: A firm choking gasping Nay. I'm already looking forward to this weekend when the Vote or Non-Vote will be happening. I'm stocking up on chips and dips. It will be better than the Super Bowl. Too bad CSPAN didn't sell commercials for this weekend at 1 to 3 million each.

23 months ago: As the bill currently stands, no - it's still a bureaucratic three-card Monte but the Dems are probably figuring the political damage will be worse if they don't pull the trigger and pass what they got.

23 months ago: I vote no -

They said they wanted bi-partisanship but we have behind the door closed dealings.

Their is little known of what is in the fine print and they have openly said in order to find out what is in the Bill we have to pass it first.

The American people have spoken and we can not take on the financial burden not now especially in the middle of a war that is putting our grand children in-debt.

The only way to make health insurance more affordable for all is putting limits on companies that have complete control over our health and well being. That is were capitalism falls short it does not recognize Health insurance companies need to be limited.

This bill although not the single payer bill I would prefer, is much much much better than doing nothing.
23 months ago: Al.

Pay attention. It is so a single payor system. Watch.

22 months ago: ...It's never too late...

You of all people should know it was too late even when you put the poll out. Remember, we live in a Republic with a representative democracy not a mob ruled direct democracy, eh?!

As it was, the only votes that counted were the Democrats in Congress. That's because thanks to Bush and the religious right imploding the Republican Party, it's now led by angry evangelicals and talk show hosts who roar with obstructionist bile instead of cooperation.
22 months ago: Well it's Monday morning and I supposed to be crawling into my hole but figured I'd vote Yes since I'm already on government/retired military/medicare supported healthcare and it won't change my insurance.

Think that makes Al, PH and me the only ones to vote for it and no I did not vote for the guy playing president.

22 months ago: Six, might want to ensure that's the case by contacting your Senators to support H.R. 4887 (TRICARE Affirmation Act) - it was introduced in the House by the Armed Services Committee Chairman, Ike Skelton and it's already passed unanimously in that chamber (403-0). The Uniformed Services Disabled Retirees put out an action alert:

22 months ago: My Tricare Prime is so far safe, even if it is secondary to forced Medicare and Medicare Part B (which took $97 out of my monthly income for no benefit).

Thanks.
