Rant/Rave Authors Lost In (Cyber) Space!

Where are these guys?

I have always wondered who the 4,625 authors on Rant/Rave were, and what they have written or what they may have commented on. Some of these authors that I have found inadvertently or by reference, have written very compelling rants and raves. I was wondering if the RR could post a list for anyone visiting, to visit their posts as well as the weekly top 10? It may add a little more site action if they did.

With the hold-up in Google news this may be a way of generating new interest with good quality posts stuck in cyber limbo? Maybe it is a policy for privacy, maybe it is something RR can't be bothered with... I think RR is a cool site and I have many visiting my posts thanks to those who comment. Having a link to the archives may "resurrect" some life into some older posts that may again be a draw and interest for visitors and news items.
Just sayin.

Other sites have this feature and I though it would be great. I like RR and many others do too, but many authors may have been forgotten along the way and it may be that they deserve a "wild-card's" 2nd chance!

15 months ago: Find a few old timers and visit their early posts. You will find many a link to profiles that will give you the info you desire.
15 months ago: Good idea.

Those that really care about this site need to step up and support any way they can.

Alex, what should we do to help?

15 months ago: Maybe a new Golden Oldies section on the cover page?
15 months ago: Sounds good to me.
15 months ago: It would be easier than digging... an archive link would be grand!
15 months ago: My guess is that writing on a regular basis, even if it is for fun takes time and gets boring for some. I don't blog every day and if I did I'm sure I would get bored with it.

There are also some that give up and go away. Katie Brown stands out as somebody who was one RantRave nearly every day for her first couple of months, yet she has not posted anything for the last month.

I've noticed that some author names like 99nomore are no longer highlighted and no longer have hyperlinks to take you to their profile page. I assume this means they quit the site and deleted their Login.

Still others may have quit because of confrontations with other members. I've seen some name calling and flame war posts flying between members. I'm all for a good debate, but some people take it too far and that could be why people quit.

RantRave is no different that most other boards. A lot of people sign up but only a few stick around for any length of time and regularly post something.
15 months ago: Thanks TCG,

Now I feel bad being so lazy!
15 months ago: Sorry. RedStateGuy is not lost in Space. He is just one of the last old farts still left...

15 months ago: I like your idea of an archive, but programming is money and right now, we don't have it. Maybe I could start featuring older rants and raves in the Rant and Rave of the Day on weekends, or something like that.
15 months ago: Alex. You can start simple. Add a button that will show authors profile pages...

In reversed date order (oldest to newest)...

Then they can visit the profile page and see the posts.

Just a thought.
15 months ago: How much?
15 months ago: You do have a donate button, don't you?
