Paris is starting a Smile Campaign. What is it? It's a campaign to get more people in Paris to smile and be nice, and be inviting to tourists. I'm sure most of you have heard that French people don't like American tourists that don't speak French... especially when we're lost and looking for directions. Well, Paris tourism has been down by 17%, so they're trying a different approach; smile and be nice. I don't know how well smiling is going to do to get Americans to spend hundreds or thousands to travel to Paris right now, but I guess it's worth a try.
If nothing else, Paris will be a happier place full of smiling people. I wish America had more happy, go lucky, smiling people. Imagine what life would be like if people were polite again! Smile. Be Happy. It cheers up those around you.
