Panama Cruise with Friends
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4czlC6kg...This is a video of our twenty day Panama Cruise, on the year of our 50th Anniversary. The Coral Princess left Fort Lauderdale Florida, to Ocho Rios Jamaica, then through the Panama Canal.
This was not my first time in Panama, in 1982, I represented Canada, on a trade mission, with my Company, Solv-X Inventions Ltd. I acquired a distributor for my Partsmaster recycling parts washers. The people of Panama were very hospitable. I attended a fashion show, with beautiful models, and bought six beautiful dresses for my wife Junette.
The beautiful translators provided by the government of Canada, voted me Mr. Congeniality. I am not boasting. They just did, if you go to RantRave, you can see the photos posted there.
I also visited a church where the complete alter wall was solid gold, when the pirates came to Panama; the people whitewashed the complete wall, so that it would not be noticed.
This twenty day cruise was completely free, as between businesses, I became Princess Cruise lines Commodore, and as a result not only was it free, but a commodore travels as a VIP, he embarks first, free laundry, shoes cleaned, wine tasting, party with the Captain and much more, this was a first class gift from the Lord for our 50th Anniversary.
Panama
In 1534 Charles of Spain ordered a survey of a proposed canal route through Panama, three hundred years passed before the French labored 20 years, beginning in 1880, but diseases and financial and engineering problems defeated them.
On May 4, 1904 the US purchased the French Canal rights and properties for $40 million and resumed construction. The complete project was completed in 1914 at a cost of $387 million.
The widest ships to pass through have a beam of 108 feet; the cost for the Coral Princess to navigate the Canal today cost $330,000.
