Recently I have started using a program called Paintbrush. It's quite simple to use, and is a bit like paint on a windows computer. Luckily, i no longer own a PC, and was missing the paint application. I Googled "paint for mac" and got this. I've been using it for a while now, and i love it. I use it to make the little graphic mash-ups for my articles here on RantRave.

If you have a Mac, I would highly recommend it. Obviously, it's free, and takes all of two seconds to figure out. Even technologically disabled people should have little to no issues with it. The link in the sidebar is the website you can download it from (just to rub it in, it's the apple site)

As for you Windows users, buy a Mac. Enjoy!

33 months ago: Paintbrush has been around for many years and it is a rather simple program to use. But, the costs of purchasing a Mac outweigh the value of purchasing a computer just to use one program.

While I don't like a lot about windows for many it is more cost effective to purchase over Mac's.

Ironically, it's a short-sighted mentality that keeps people in the mindset that PCs are cheaper. And, actually, in the past 3 years, Apple has brought down prices to the degree that even without taking into account the things I'm going to detail here, comparable Macs and PCs end up with Macs being less expensive.

So, where do I get off saying that Macs are cheaper than PCs?

(a) Apple spends billions on ergonomics and making their computers do less damage to you.
Which is cheaper? A Mac or Carpal Tunnel surgery?

(b) Apple spends billions on environmentally friendly design.
Which is cheaper? A Mac or death of our planet to pollution?

(c) Apple fills its computers with software from the iLife suite including iPhoto, iWeb, iMovie, and iTunes. The first three of these are programs that will cost you hundreds for equivalents on the PC that then don't work well because you don't have the right graphics card in your $599 PC.
Which is more expensive? A Mac or $100s of dollars of software you have to buy after you get your PC so you can do anything with it.

33 months ago: (d) Apple spends hundreds of millions designing computers that will last and last and last.
Which is more expensive? A $1000 Mac every five years or a $600 PC every other year.

(e) Apple builds its computers to they work out of the box and play nice with ancillary peripherals like printers without hassles. This is the advantage of controlling hardware and the operating system. With the exception of the $499 mac mini and super high end mac pros, their computers come with state of the art monitors, long-lasting batters, higher end graphics cards, and host of other features built in that often are not even on the radar with many PCs. Comparable PCs often cost hundreds if not thousands more – but you have to read the fine print to see this.
Which is more expensive? Buying and installing a new graphics card to play the games you love, or just knowing Mac has you covered?

(f) Apple provides the best warranties: 1-year on virtually everything, or 2 with Apple Care in the industry – most PCs come with 90 days. Plus Apple Stores the world over provide customers with on-line booking of appointments so a real human Mac Genius can take care of your computer issues.
Which is more expensive? A computer with a 90-day warranty and no sign of service anywhere, or a mac.

Which is more expensive? A virus prone PC and anti-viral software or a Mac?

(h) Nearly every year for the past 10 years Apple has overhauled the operating system in a major way. The updates have brought Mac users the top of the line, state of the art operating systems for under $150. Of course, you don't have to upgrade. Some people are still using OS X.1. When you upgrade, though, there is an attempt toward full backward compatibility for peripherals, applications, and files. When Vista came out, people had to buy all new stuff.
Which is more expensive, keeping your computer working and using your current peripherals or going out and buying new ones? Which is more expensive, Full Vista or Full OS X.5?
