POP QUIZ: AM I A RACIST?

After you read the following story, please advise if you either think I am a racist for telling it or if liberalism/socialism/statism is a complete and utter waste of humanity.
(Heynoni used to complain that I just repeated conservative emails I received. This plagiarizes on of those emails.)

It appears New Orleans has lost a "well know in the community" citizen, Larmonda "Flair" Allen. You can see his obituary at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat...

It appears he was unmarried, but had a companion named Kawanner Armstrong.

He had 3 sons: Christian Allen, Kwan Allen, Larmondo Allen, Jr., and 6 daughters, Deidra Allen, Larmenshell Allen, Lamonshea Allen, Larmomdriel Allen, Larmerja Allen, and Korevell Allen.

He was 25 years old.

He had a father, mother, step-father and 13 brothers and sisters with different last names.

His Father fathered his brothers Burnell, Edgar and his sister Lekiksha.

His Stepfather fathered his Sister Katina.

His Mother, Esther Allen, was unwed when she gave birth to: Larmondo, Mattnell, Burnell and Lester.

We are uncertain who fathered Wil Willis and Jessica Willis, or Dante and Reshe Edwards.

To recap: Larmondo was 25 and had 3 sons and 6 daughters. That means nine children were likely on welfare collecting $1,500.00 a month, each. That equals $13,500.00 a month. Now add food stamps, free medical, free school lunches, ...................................

Do the math, that's $162,000.00 + a year until each child is 18.

Am I racist for telling that story, or is liberalism/socialism/statism a complete and utter waste of humanity?

20 months ago: More of a jealous person than racist. No mention of race to quantify the race of the family/offspring. I could "profile" the story based on the names and then I would be using racial stereotypes....

Really? $1500 a month each? Something is really wrong with that system if it is that much.
20 months ago: Profile? Based on names? Really? What if we changed the names to LaBubba and LaBubbette?
20 months ago: I'm sure it would then become a crisis because LaWhitie was gaming the system.
20 months ago: Jealous?

Of what?

That I sit on my hindquarters and not ever look in a mirror?

NO THANKYOU.
20 months ago: I need more information.

Would you vote for Herman Cain?
20 months ago: I would absolutely, without a doubt, vote for Herman Cain.
20 months ago: OK, I'm halfway there but need to know if you would vote for him if his name was LaHerman KaCain?
20 months ago: Interesting question Cypress....we'll never know for sure...will we?

I would like to think his name would make no difference to me. The color of his skin makes no difference.

20 months ago: I don't see where race has any bearing on the story. What I'm wondering is... in the obit clipping listed, he is referred to as an "entrepreneur". Is that because he was a self employed seller of street drugs, or is it because he had a pretty successful franchise of check collectors?
20 months ago: or...maybe a good kneecapper with his 9.....iron....
20 months ago: Box. I think Red is pointing out how race is a oneway street.

20 months ago: Well then, in that case, I would only consider RSG a racist if he was trying to imply that this case was anything more than an isolated anomaly, and not the norm. Now, granted, in New Orleans, it is probably more normal than anywhere in the world.

I'm sure that if the dead guy was white, Red would have just as much of a problem with the nine unwed welfare babies. But good news!! Now that the guy is dead, his children can also collect SSI checks until they turn 21.
20 months ago: Ditto Cypress.
20 months ago: Correct Box.
20 months ago: Right on Box. Race has nothing to do with it until I point out how liberalism is the scourge of humanity....then I'll be called a racist.
20 months ago: What race was he?

The key word here is "likely" and it doesn't make you a racist it just makes you an elitist. or perhaps an ****.

Why do you think his kids were on welfare? People of all races tend to have big families down south.

20 months ago: "Big FAMILIES?!?"

What family?

25 years old with 9 children?!?

What's wrong with this picture?

A "FAMILY" has 1 mother and 1 father, and not some liberal/socialist twisted, no marriage, G-dless, shack up.
20 months ago: Talk about stereotyping. "tend to have big families down south"
20 months ago: You are absolutely wrong.

Families are composed of people who care about one another. It has nothing to do with your right-wing Judea Christian blueprint brainwash.

Really really says something about you I think.
20 months ago: This is a historical accuracy.

But then you knew that.

20 months ago: Everywhere in the world farmers have big families. Not just especially in the south. But there's not much farming going on in a big city like NOLA.

But maybe it's like the cultures that live in harsh environments or have lots of predators. They tend to develop the proclivity toward many offspring in the hope that maybe a few of them will survive to maturity. Survival of the gene pool instincts kick in.

And then, the government who caged them also gives them the means, not to escape, but to over-populate.

20 months ago: So Red. It is indeed a tragic story. To determine if you are a racist or not, we need to know what you would advocate to eliminate problems like this?

If you were to say that you want to just kick all black folk off welfare, than yes.

If you were to join us lefty socialists, and say that the guy should have gotten some education so he knows enough to wear a condom, or that his girlfriends should have known better and had access to birth control and information on how to use it, then you wouldn't be.

We liberals think it is probably an economic thing, and if we could have gotten him a job, he wouldn't have spent all of his time in bed or on the streets getting shot. The guy should have had some do gooder teacher or social worker keeping him off the streets, teaching him something worthwhile, and getting him a job. Conservatives tend to think these programs are just a waste of taxpayer money, but this is a great example of what happens if Conservatives have their way, abandon the poor, and kill any social programs designed to give the poor, jobs, training and keep them out of trouble. The conservatives just write off these people, and they are left to lives of crime and gangs (he was shot).

"High fertility rates have historically been strongly correlated with poverty, high childhood mortality rates, low status and educational levels of women, deficiencies in reproductive health services, and inadequate availability and acceptance of contraceptives. Falling fertility rates and the demographic transition are generally associated with improved standards of living, such as increased per capita incomes, increased life expectancy, lowered infant mortality, increased adult literacy, and higher rates of female education and employment. " http://dieoff.org/page75.htm

We liberals think that improving the socioeconomic conditions, giving the guy a job, providing education, providing birth control would prevent tragedies like this.

I have yet to hear any conservative provide any idea that would prevent such a situation or help this guy get a job. Obama has provided a decent jobs proposal which the Republicans consider DOA. The Black Congressional Caucus has provided 40 jobs bills that would help. None of them made it to the floor. Jan Shcakowsky has a jobs bill that would create 2.2 million jobs targeted at guys like this. It would help the Chronic unemployed (up to 50% in inner city minority areas like this). http://www.google.com/search?q=jan+schak...

I would consider you a racist if you don't think an investment in trying to make young people like this good tax paying members of society, worthwhile.

20 months ago: But.......isn't any program that is targeted at one particular race...in essence...racist? How did people get so firmly entrenched in inner city hopelessness? Oh yeah, that's where the bleeding hearts built all the free gummint housing. Hmmm, how's that working out?
20 months ago: You know my wife has been working in Housing for near 20 years. She and I cant find any "free gummint housing." The federal government subsidizes oil companies more then they do low income housing.

Only instances of free housing are 90 day emergency vouchers that usually go to women whose husbands beat the crap out of them to the point that they actually pack up the kids and leave.

Everything else is applied for and means tested. Do people cheat? Hell yes they do but it is still not free housing. And there are people whose job it is to root those people out. Are they corrupt? Hell yes some of them are. But they always get caught.

20 months ago: No free housing where you live? Wow, in my town, population less than 60,000, there are over 2500 units of government subsidized housing. Ok, it may not be free for everyone. Some people have to pay as much as $28.00 per month to live there. Some of those less fortunate ones have to even pay a portion of their utilities.

I have an acquaintance, a 42 yo female with no health problems, three adolescent children, and a cash job that pays $100/day four days a week. She has an adult daughter who is also working and contributing. She lives in a sprawling gummint project, in a very nice FOUR BEDROOM DUPLEX APARTMENT!!!!!!! FOR FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And on top of that, her kids get the best of medical care through Medicaid, her wealthy parents cover her own medical and dental, and she gets $1200/month in food stamps.

Really dude, you should get out and mingle with the common folk more. There's no telling what you might learn.
20 months ago: (Box said it best)

To eliminate this problem, government needs to go back to JUST protecting our liberty and freedom.

You don't "kick" people off welfare, you allow the market to provide jobs and allow them to look in the mirror every morning. You do not destroy their self esteem by sending them government checks every month.

Lack of birth control is a symptom, not the problem.

Once again Al, you are exposing the PROBLEM. It ain't a "good teacher" or "social worker's" dang business. It is a MOTHER and A FATHER'S role to bring their children up right. Not the dang government.

Uh.....Al.... It is the democrats that are NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA'S RAISE TAXES PLAN.....er.... "Jobs Plan". http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/top-s...

I agree with this statement. But the question remains what do you do when they don't.

Ypu simply can not turn your back on the problem because it isnt your responsibility. Well you can but in the end you will end up a victim.
20 months ago: Since you seem to be on the High Horse Al. Let me ask you a question. Be honest for once if you can...

Way back in the day when you were teaching. You said you "Daydreamed" about tossing students out of school.

Did any of your "daydreams" include a student that was not of your race?

Be honest. We will know if lie.
20 months ago: Didn't think this Progressive Liberal Democrat would either reply or be honest.

Your silence speaks volumes.
20 months ago: How do you read this statement?

"Barack Obama said America has gone "soft" and needed to get "back on track" over the last couple of decades"

Kinda fits into this debate.
20 months ago: From NOPD Press Release:
Double Murder Investigation

New Orleans, La., -- This evening, members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the murder of two men, ages 25 and 22-years of age. The 25-year-old local man has been identified as Larmondo Allen. The other victim was identified as 22-year-old Edward Taylor. The offense occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m., at 2339 Martin Luther King Boulevard (Guste Public Housing Development).

According to investigators, COPS officers were patrolling the development and heard several gunshots and later found the men in the development. Taylor was observed lying in the courtyard, suffering apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. Allen was seen lying, a short distance away from the first victim, on a concrete stairway and near the second floor balcony. He suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Both men were pronounced dead on the scene.

Both men were convicted felons, Taylor had a Second Degree Murder Warrant for his arrest in connection with the January 7, 2003 murder of 26-year-old Aaron Jones who was killed in the 1500 block of Bienville Street. The NOPD aired his photograph on January 14, 2004 in connection with this case.

Allen also has previous arrests, and in May of 2003 he was arrested on two (2) counts of attempted murder and one count of First Degree Murder. In December and October of 1999, he was arrested on two separate First Degree Murder cases.

20 months ago: Still haven't heard any brilliant ideas from the right on how to keep these guys from becoming criminals. That is what happens when they are abandoned by the free market system.

They only hire the best, unemployed need not apply. Jokers like this who probably dropped out of school don't have a chance so they turn to a life of crime.

If you think Education is expensive this is the alternative.

In 2010 Republicans were put in promising to make jobs, but they haven't put forth one jobs bill yet, and all of the austerity measures they forced caused hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Their big plan is to make a lot more criminals. Trouble is they don't want to pay for the prisons either.

One of those Rocky movies talked about the eye of the tiger. Americans got fat and lazy. We got used to being the top dog so we stopped trying and training so hard. Meanwhile all of those other countries have been putting on the steam. They have the eye of the tiger.

We put forth a major education and research effort with the space race, then that resulted in the computer innovations that allowed us to get by while all of the manufacturing jobs were shipped overseas. Now if we want to get on top again it will take a major effort and big bucks. The space race now is the green energy race and we are loosing, because the right wing has grown soft on jobs, education and research.
20 months ago: Er......Al.

20 months ago: That's the difference in philosophy and basics.

"Republicans were put in promising to make jobs, but they haven't put forth one jobs bill yet"

Not everyone feels it's the government's task to create jobs. The government's role should be to get out of the way and let jobs take care of themselves. What is the eye of the tiger that those other countries have? A workforce that will work for pennies.

If the Republicans want to let the economy create jobs, they will get rid of the employer mandate in the socialist programs that the Democrats have crippled our economy with. Then the job bleedoff to other countries would reverse.

Sure, having a great job with great benefits is nice, but having a job with no benefits sure beats having no job at all, which is what the Democrats have delivered upon the people of the United States.
20 months ago: So, with the turn of events during the last 24 hours regarding Rick Perry and the false claims of "Niggerhead" by the liberal media...Not to mention the statements by Herman Cain regarding "NiggerHead"... Will this be Perry's "NiggerGate"?

I'm not real happy that Herman jumped on the liberal media statements without making a few fact finding calls and searches first.

Seems that the "Niggerhead" stone is located on private property not owned by Perry. Seems like Rick Perry's father first "Leased" the 1000+ acres. Seems like Rick Perry's father painted over the "Niggerhead" rock way, way back.

I guess the libs and Herman Cain are going to say that it should have been removed. Really? The "NiggerGate" rock is private property of the land owners... Not the Leasee...

I'm disappointed in Herman Cain for using this topic to gain media coverage.
20 months ago: I'm not up to speed yet Cypress, but, if that is the case, I am likewise disappointed in Herman Cain.
20 months ago: Just search and you will find.

Perry's "NiggerGate" debunked...

20 months ago: Thanks Cypress.

I don't care one bit what the Washington Post, or MSLSD, or ABC, or CNN, ....say anymore.

If Perry is the nominee, he has my vote.

He claims he switched parties when he found out Gore was not a conservative. http://www.politifact.com/texas/statemen...

WHAT?????

Perry now claims to be a conservative Republican.....and yet........in 1993....
He also wrote a letter to Hillary commending her fine efforts to nationalize health care in America.

"I think your efforts in trying to reform the nation's health care system are most commendable."

"I would like to request that the task force give particular consideration to the needs of the nation's farmers, ranchers, and agriculture workers, and other members of rural communities," Perry continued, noting his administration's focus on economic development for rural Texans. "Rural populations have a high proportion of uninsured people, rising health care costs, and often experience lack of services."

"Again, your efforts are worthy," Perry concluded, "and I hope you will remember this constituency as the task force progresses."

The plan Clinton's task force ultimately presented called for universal health care along with a federal mandate for employers to provide health insurance for their employees."

I don't think I trust a turncoat any more than I do a Liberal.
20 months ago: Box.

I did not say I wanted him to win the nomination. Anybody but Hussein Obama.

My first choice is Sarah Palin....at least it was.

The last "compassionate conservative" we had ended up sucking pretty bad on things.
20 months ago: Whoa just a second Box. When did I ever endorse Perry? When Did I ever endorse anyone? I stated that Perry has issues months ago. Don't go down that road yet.

I only asked if Herman Cain is being honest by playing the media while he investigates "niggergate". Now that Herman Cain has included his 2 cents on the topic. It will not go away for him. He had best have a good answer as to why he spoke without full information.

You think Herman Cain will come out and say that Perry's father painted over the slur in the early 1980's? Over 30 years ago (when the lease was first aquired by the Perry's). You think Herman Cain will investigate who wrote the word on the rock? You think Herman Cain will investigate when the word was written on the rock?

No....Herman Cain is just going to play the card and paint with a broad brush on this topic.

Yeah, I'm thinking Cain may have stepped into a trap, actually, and told off on himself, in his haste to make up some points. I can actually see in my mind's eye somebody from the Perry camp saying," send some reporters 'round to Cain and see what he thinks about that ol' rock."

But I'd vote against Perry in the general, for the reasons I gave and for the other reasons including in-state tuition for illegal aliens.

20 months ago: 'Fraid not, Red, and I never in a million, billion, kazillion years thought I'd be saying this,, but at least with Obama you pretty much know what you're up against, and I'd rather have a Democrat in the big chair, being held at bay by a Republican Congress, than have a Democrat masquerading as a Republican for president. The thing is, I just can't swallow that Perry changed all his core beliefs when he switched over to the Republican party. And besides, flip flopping is not a sign of a good leader.

Maybe Ron Paul will go back to Independent, (wishful thinking) or heck, maybe even Palin will jump in as an independent candidate. We have about thirteen months to shake it out.
20 months ago: How is Paul going to make it as an independent in a two party system? Fact is every one clamoring for change should get behind the old man. He is the only candidate that promises real sweeping change. Running independent would just allow them to sweep him further under the rug.

Ron Paul is proof that while many mouth off about wanting "government to get out of the way" they really just want to enhance the Status Quo to a level where Capital has the edge over labor.

20 months ago: Slim. I agree pretty much wholeheartedly. While the Tea Party started out with the best of intentions, I think it has been hijacked by the Republican party. And unlike the Tea Party, which stated a desire for less government through not paying any more taxes, Paul actually wants to do away with the unnecessary and unconstitutional beaurocracies FIRST. Then the resulting lower tax rates would
follow. In other words, he has the horse where it belongs, pulling the cart, and not the cart pulling the horse.

So far, the Tea Party has not put forth a candidate who really walks the walk. It's just more government, by the government, and for the government.
