NY Jets Take Down Patriots 28 – 21
After a week of hype the New York Jets put their money where their mouths were. New York essentially shut down the dominate team in the NFL this year by playing a gutsy game of chess that out Belichicked Bill Belichick. Rex Ryan completely out coached Yoda on this fine Sunday.
As for the game, it was a very entertaining match to watch. The Pats were totally unprepared for the look the Jets gave them.
Tom Brady, the darling of the NFL, had hands in his face all day. Brady was sacked five times and threw an interception to David Harris. I was thinking of potential bad things after that point when the Jets could not punch the ball into the end zone and the Nick Volk misses the field goal. Oh, no!
However, the New York Jets shook that off, manned up and continued to play football. All three receivers were involved on the Jets side. Ladainian Tomlinson and Sean Greene were key to keeping the New England defense honest and on their toes. As a result the Jets were able to play up and get ahead.
Defensively the Jets disrupted everything the Patriots tried. Brady was scared straight.
Even when he had time in the pocket he was shook and his execution was sub-par not just for him, but for anyone. There were instances where he was patting the ball several times and still had nowhere to go. Mark Sanchez a second year quarterback, showed far more poise throughout than MVP favorite Brady throwing three touchdown passes.
The New England Patriots are a great football team and they do not like to lose. That being said they were clearly disgruntled by the Jets celebration after the game. Wah! Wah!
The New York Jets are advancing to the AFC Championship game for the second year in a row. The Pittsburgh Steelers are next. Another great ride.
