It would appear that the NASCAR diva of the decade Jeff Gordon has finally had it with his teammate slash driver as an owner for blocking him during the Talladega Aaron's 499. His thoughts were expressed very clearly after the race when on live television he stated "The 48 [Johnson] is testing my patience. It takes a lot to make me mad, but I am pissed right now. … I don't know what it is with me and him right now."
When Jeff Gordon was making a run to the front on the bottom of the track Jimmie Johnson was in the middle and dropped down to block his teammate/co-owner of the Lowe's 48. Clearly it would appear the four straight Sprint NASCAR Championship is not interested in letting his teammate even come close to taking a possible fifth straight from him.
Johnson may have certainly become too big for his britches and has no interest in letting anyone including teammates from ruining the run he is currently on for the fifth straight. Blocking his own clearly Sunday wasn't a bit interested in playing the good teammate who didn't have a chance at winning the race letting his teammate have one when he had the chance to run up front.
The discord between them will matter less and less once the money starts rolling in for wins on either team. The problem is likely to become Gordon when confronted is just as likely to push back and it isn't necessary in either drivers best interest but will probably happen sooner than later.
Personally I can tell you that I am not a fan of either driver and am especially disgruntled at Jeff Gordon who at times early in his career was always saying the right things to the camera and was famously using the bump and run to win way too many times sometimes at the peril of one of my favorite drivers.
