Last night Stephen Colbert went under the razor when taping The Colbert Report in Iraq. In front of US troops in one of Saddam Hussein’s palaces, General Ray Odierno followed a videotaped order from President Barack Obama to slice and dice, leading to a Colbert shaved head.

Colbert shaved his head in solidarity with the troops, signifying “the end of the Iraq War.” Stephen Colbert has been taping episodes of his comedy show in Iraq this last week.

This is a great gesture from Stephen Colbert – he’s both being funny and showing that he supports the troops. His new buzz cut will be a great reminder to people that even thought they may disagree with the way that the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars are going, they have to get behind our men and women in uniform.

That’s why I’m a big fan of the Colbert shaved head – he’s being a true American.

I can't embed the "Stephen Colbert shaved head" video here on RantRave -- so you can see it at the "Colbert Nation." (First link.)

35 months ago: Let's see how long he (Stephen Colbert) keeps the "High and Tight".

A prolonged burr will make this story more believable.
Right now this reminds me of wrestlers shaving heads when they lose a match. Promoting their channels.

I would have cut into skin with the clippers like the real grunt cutters do. That would have made a point and would have also been real funny to watch...Colbert.."Did I just lose an ear"?

Stephen, it ain't that funny when your bleeding and the cutter say hold fast recruit. (while being gentle)

35 months ago: I think this was just another "celeb" opportunity for the President.

(off topic: did anyone else who watched the video find it amusing/interesting that Obama thanked the troops, and that was it? don't you think that if it were a Repub he would have said something like "God bless" or "come home safely" or something like that?)
