About ten months ago I wrote a
Rave on how Starbucks was experimenting in a new larger size of coffee. At that time, they were just test marketing the new "Trenta" sized coffee, which is about 7 ounces larger than the traditional "Venti" cups offered at Starbucks now.
It seems that several news reports are coming out saying that the experiment with a larger sized Starbucks coffee was a hit. Starbucks will be rolling out the 31 ounce Trenta sized coffee to all its United States coffee shops sometime in early May.
This new and bigger Trenta size will be offered as iced coffee, iced tea and iced tea lemonade drinks only and will cost about 50 cents more than a Venti drink. Some of us will begin to see the new Trenta sized drinks sooner than the rest of the nation. Starbucks is looking at 14 states to begin the process of integrating the new size by February 1st.
As I stated in my previous Rave, this will be a boost to those whose addiction to caffeine needs a bigger boost. For a society that has been raised in a bigger is better mentality, Starbucks has found a niche and I am sure will exploit it as only they can.
