The El Toro library located in Lake Forest is like many libraries around the country. They are feeling the financial pain of this economy. 215 Agenda is one of the embattled marijuana dispensaries that have been targeted by the city of Lake Forest for violating the city’s zoning laws. The city is currently involved with several lawsuits targeting many marijuana dispensaries in the area.
The manager of 215 Agenda said the fundraising was done for the most part by the huge patient group using the dispensary. The dispensary is located near a large retirement village and is frequented by many of the elderly who live there.
The library’s plight came up at a recent city council meeting and the marijuana dispensary decided to help. They put out a tip jar and began collecting money for the library. The $1,500 was just the initial donation, the jar is still up, and money is still being collected.
