I've talked about the TV show Man vs. Food on the Travel network before, it's the show where the host Adam Richman travels to different cities and samples some of the best local food, and takes on local all-you-can-eat competitions. I love the show, and only bring it up again because he recently did a show on Seattle, my old stomping grounds, and the home of many rantravers out there. I felt proud to have actually eaten at some of the places he mentioned, and thought it was worth raving for you locals still out there. Adam visited Red Mill and downed a blue cheese and some onion rings, I think at the Magnolia location, and it brought back the joy of those burgers and rings, especially the Verde burger with that fire roasted Anaheim pepper. Well worth having to scrape up cash only, and wait in the line that was usually out the door. Next Adam visited the Crab Pot down on the Waterfront, and he took on the Feast for Two. Finally, and the real competition that bested him, Adam visited Beth's café and took on the 12-egg Southwestern Exposure Omellete. He got within 2 bites of finishing the omellete competition, which also involves downing a slab of hash browns and toast on the side. It was a valiant effort, and one that hurt to watch, but it was great to see some local haunts from 1200 miles away.
