It seems that everything involving Bernie Madoff is bleeding money these days, including his prison numbers. A man from Queens decided to play the final three numbers in the New York State Lottery, and he ended up winning $1,5000.
Sure, it's not a very large sum, especially in the context of Madoff and the billions of dollars he defrauded investors out of, but it is money won by seeing him put away. What sweet money it is then.
The winner says that he'll put down a chunk of the winnings to pay for his wife's 50th birthday trip to Las Vegas, and also plans to take his family out for a nice dinner. Not a bad way to spend it, even if the money may be tainted. Using it for a good purpose should defeat the curse.
