Detroit 1-8-7 is the most awesome crime drama on TV!! I love all the characters, especially Detectives Sanchez and Stone and the relationship between them. Detroit 1-8-7 has all the elements you would want in a good crime drama. If you haven't watched this show, watch it now at Abc.com. It is truly amazing.
I will be crushed if they cancel this show. I have not gotten so attached to a show in a long time, but after you watch the whole season so far, you will understand!! :)
Please watch it and get your friends to watch it too, because we need to save it.

15 months ago: Why are all TV police departments so ethnically diverse? Every cop show looks like an ad for united colors of benetton. I have never seen the show, but let me guess...
African american police chief?
Lady head detective?
Latino rookie detective who partners with...
a violent veteran detective with family issues, usually a divorce and a young child he never gets to see, who is sleeping with one of the asst. DA's.
right?

It's fine if you don't like Detroit 1-8-7 ... Everyone has their own opinion and I most definitely respect that. If you like police shows at all, you should try watching either one of my 2 favorite shows, Detroit 1-8-7 or Hawaii Five-0. I am addicted to both, although, Detroit is very realistic. What ever you choose, happy watching!! :)

15 months ago: Thank you for the welcome and the heads up!! Detroit 1-8-7 has a man from, I believe India, who has become a detective, but I don't believe there is a vegan/animal rights activist. I do think that this show displays diversity, in ethnicities as well as personalities, and I also like the fact that they don't use a Hollywood backlot, but the actual streets in Detroit. The office is very realistic, and there is so much chemistry between the team. I love the fact that there is a mixture of the different ethnicities (displaying diversity), but they all get along and work together. They all have their own personal struggles, but that makes them stronger and work together better in the force that they all call home: Detroit homicide. There are a few characters that easily display this diversity that any good police show should contain - for example, Det. Fitch, a caucasian man in his late 40's, who is very knowledgeable about solving his homicide cases but struggles with communication skills, is liked by the team but also thought of as a bit strange...just his ways of doing things are a little different, but he is accepted and looked up to because he is, first and foremost, a successful and smart detective. There is also Det. Washington, a young African-American detective, who is just starting out at the beginning of the season. He is probably in his 20's, and he is married and has a son who is born in the middle of the season. Washington is a good man, and he is partnered with Fitch, so he has to learn to accept Fitch's style. He does this, and ends up learning a lot from his partner. Another example is the Lieutenant; she is also African-American, and she is very tough but she has a kind heart. I won't get into all the characters but lastly I will share my personal favorite, Det. Sanchez. Sanchez is played by Natalie Martinez, so she is extremely beautiful and also strong. Sanchez works very hard and fits right in with "the boys", but she also has a relationship with her partner, Stone.

15 months ago: When I say Sanchez's partner Stone, I mean her partner at work, another male detective. Their relationship isn't super consistent, but we'll have to see what happens in the next few episodes!!
