Young Kim Jong-Il

After the death of his father, Kim Jong-Il, Workers Party of North Korea proclaimed his son, Kim Jong-Un as the "Great Successor" and new leader of the country. Very little is known of this young man and even his birth is shrouded in mystery. It seems as most of the "facts" of his life are rumors so only time will show where if he will lead his country.

He was and remains a big unknown. Kim Jung-Un was only officially introduced to the Korean people 2010, when it was announced via state media that he had been appointed a Daejang - a four-star general rank. Everything else all about him is unconfirmed hearsay. So, here is who and what supposedly Kim Jong-Un is:

- Kim Jong-Un was born in 1983 or early 1984. His official birthday is January 8, 1984 and January 8th was celebrated as a national holiday in North Korea in 2010.

- He has been described as an overweight heavy drinker who is the spitting image of his father. There are rumors that he also suffers from diabetes, just like his father.

- He supposedly attended International School of Berne, Switzerland, under a pseudonym. There are some reports that Kim Jong-Un attended Gümlingen International School under pseudonym "Pak Chol." During his stay in Switzerland, he was mentored by the ambassador of North Korea in Switzerland, Ri Tcheul. It is also said that Kim has studied computer science privately in Korea.

- Kim Jong-Un is apparently an avid basketball and NBA fan. There are rumors that he met and even had pictures taken with Kobe Bryant and Toni Kukoc. Since putting on weight, his competitive nature found a new outlet at 15-ball pool. This effectively started a new trend of love for the 15-ball pool among North Koreans.

Believe it or not, that's about everything that's known or assumed of the new Korean "Dear Leader" and "Grand Successor." The future will tell what kind of man he really is.

5 months ago: Dr,

This is North Korea we're talking about... I say like father like son.
5 months ago: IF so, he would uphold direction to assasinate South Korean Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin...

"North Korea has sent agents into the South to assassinate key South Korean officials and defectors in the past. A nephew of leader Kim Jong-Il, who had defected, was killed by the North's agents in Seoul in 1997."

5 months ago: Unfortunately, you are probably right.

Although young Kim Jong-Un was educated in Switzerland, he is still his father's son, selected by him for ruling North Korea.
5 months ago: Sorry, I have a hard time trusting any man that has been given a girls first name. Call me a Homophobe.
5 months ago: It's funny, but according to some rumors, Kim's older brother was dismissed as a successor because he couldn't keep up with their father's drinking. Because he was not a heavy drinker, Kim Jong-Il considered him too "girlish" to take over country.
