Not too long ago, my wife and I took a trip to Bend, OR. We stayed at a delightful bed and breakfast called Juniper Acres. The lodge is located about 10 minutes west of Bend and is surrounded by 20 acres of woods, for lots of quiet and privacy.
Juniper Acres has two rooms, which each have their own bathroom and cable tv. The common living room is very spacious and has a sweeping view of the Cascades. I recommend taking a bottle of wine out to the deck and enjoying the sunset. Each morning, you get to enjoy a delicious, homemade breakfast with the other guests, as well as the Inn Keepers Della and Vern Bjerk. (Della is the master chef.)
If you have never been to Bend, it is a fantastic place to get out and enjoy nature. Juniper Acres is located close to the Three Sisters Mountains, which are perfect for hiking and camping, Mt. Bachelor and Hoodoo Ski Area, for skiing, the Deschutes and Metolius Rivers for fishing and whitewater rafting and, of course, it's close to Bend, which has great restaurants, shopping and lots of golfing. It is literally close to everything.
So, if you are looking for a nice retreat, I cannot recommend Juniper Acres and Bend, OR enough. What makes it even better is the price tag of $90-120/night.
