As Creator... Jesus made Cool!

"Are Young, Religious Stars like Justin Bieber and Tim Tebow Making Christianity Cool? ...they believe in God, and they don't mind sharing. Over the weekend Justin Bieber made news with his a new tattoo — a large portrait of the face of Jesus Christ inked on his calf. Bieber's ink happened to dovetail with the Denver Broncos unlikely win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the latest in a string un unlikely victories that their 24-year old quarterback, Tim Tebow, regularly and publicly thanks Jesus Christ for helping him achieve."

"...in his movie, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, in which he is filmed praying before concerts. "People will walk away (from the film) knowing faith is very important to him," Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, one of the movie's producers, told USA Today."

Here's the thing... Jesus Made Cool! As the awesome Creator, Jesus has blessed many with extraordinary talent and purpose... fact is God is love! I think it is great that celebs share their faith unashamedly, it is more than just a part of who we are... it is who we are! Whether they be UFC prodigies to virtuoso's... Christ isn't constrained to make only the popular perfect... some of the most incredible people are often times the least expected to be "awesome" Nick Vujicic is just such a man.

Like Bieber, Vujicic shares faith in the Creator... and it is not for the lack of talent and personal fortitude that has helped Nick... rather his weakness, the lack of limbs!

IF by chance you were thinking you were disabled or just plain plain... think again! God started something in you that He plans to take an eternity to perfect... what you see in the mirror is merely the "seed" ...the true plant that may grow into an awesome tree, feeding many, may just be... yet to be discovered!

Truth is I have dissed Justin Bieber, and my kids are going to laugh at my pro-Bieber post... I'm not a "Belieber"... just givin props to someone who is not ashamed of my Savior! That makes us Bro's ...I support anyone who names the Name of Christ! Also it is rough standing for Jesus in the public... many people are just waiting to see you fall and be there to laugh. Guys like Bieber need prayer to stay, or get back on track...
we all do. I was touched by youthful Justin's innocence singing to Christ in one of his videos... pretty hard to keep that kind of faith in this world...
how are we doing? Pretty hard to grow in the dark...

GROW WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED!

...and ask the Creator to give you a glimpse of what He can do in your life. I gave up thousands of times... and have had to put up with tons of crap produced by my poor decisions, but now I look at it this way...
crap makes the best fertilizer !:]

"Belieber" or not, some people like to hear my story... it is a story of failure, loneliness, ignorance and just plain stupidity... somewhere my useless worthless life became priceless. Some how the crap in my life became valuable fertilizer! So don't judge your life based on what you did, or what you can do... give Jesus a chance and see what He can do... I may not be Justin Bieber, Tim Tebow or Nick Vujicic...
but I am way-cool to at least 6 people !:]

God... good on you!

4 months ago: I'll be the first to comment. What you said makes a lot of sense.
The new generation follows Jesus differently. It is what youth is moved by at different times in life. If Justin is setting a good example, more the power to him.
The only problem here is that people are only human, and he is very young. The parents have to watch closely. If these kids fall, others start questioning their beliefs. These people really have to know their responsibility. The other side of this is a total reversal, where you start in the dark at the bottom and reach for the light in life. I suppose however you get there is the way you are suppose to because it is a learning process for each individual. We all have different things to learn at different paces. I think you are doing really fine and set an example to others. Even right here being truthful and honest. God Bless. Keep up the good work. Sunny
4 months ago: Thanks Sunny,

You are right about these young public figures... there is an incredible weight on their shoulders, and many times they fail, it doesn't take away from their relationship with God, but they fail... and in the public, that is huge! The Biblical perspective is that God works with fallen creatures... regardless of their humanity... He restores us and builds us up... if He can do this with His "enemies" how much greater He can do this within His own family !:]

There are some that are incorrigibles and can't be changed, but He gives them that choice. Everyone gets that chance.
The ones that fight their way to God are the ones that had it in them all along and are worth saving. God Bless Sunny
4 months ago: Bieber has a Tat of who? Did I miss the email from God that said it was OK to have a Tat and defile the temple?
4 months ago: I don't have any, but if I did support a tattoo... I don't really see that as necessarily destroying the Temple of God, I could be wrong... see your quote in context...

"10By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.
16Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 17If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."
(1 Corinthians 3:10-17)

A lot of people have alternative life styles that go along with the tatoos that I don't fit into. I see young woman with one arm completely covered or their neck or face covered with this art work, but when they age, it is not going to look so good.
I have found that people who go out there and start building a lucrative life will always fall on their faces if they treat others badly. If they use or destroy others on the way to the top, they lose every time. If is likely to be a built in self-destruction mode, that will not allow it for an indefinite time. It is absolutely true that they will suffer loss and go through a lot to redeem themselves at a big cost.

It looks like he used the more ethnically accurate version, set during the crucifixion.

And I'm not entirely sure about the acceptability in God's sight of a tat, even if it is a Jesus representative tat. Here's what the Old Testament says:

"Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD."
Leviticus 19:28
4 months ago: I have always taken the Leviticus ref to be that of the context of necromancy, and not merely a drawing... like certain 'piercings' the law allowed some for a particular reason...

"...then his master shall bring him to God, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever." (Exodus 21:6)

...and talk about 'cuttings' or 'engravings' Justin Bieber may just be following the lead of The Lord God Almighty...

"Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me." (Isaiah 49:16)

4 months ago: The verse says, with the "for the dead" qualifier, not to cut your flesh, but seems to say to make NO marks upon your body.

"In Lev. 19:28 we find two prohibitions of an unnatural disfigurement of the body: 'Ye shall not make any cutting in your flesh for the dead, nor any print any marks upon you.' The latter (Heb. qa aqa, incision) refers to tattooing, and has no reference to idolatrous usages, but was intended to inculcate upon the Israelietes a proper reverence for God's creation."

4 months ago: God has also done a few things that we are forbidden to do. He says that Judgement for Him and Him alone. As far as Him engraving names into the palms of His hands, that sounds a bit figurative, as he is a spirit, and really doesn't have flesh like we do.
4 months ago: OOBRO,

"As far as Him engraving names into the palms of His hands, that sounds a bit figurative" ...seems like He had a few help Him out with those holes He is still sporting in His hands, and is an answer to the OT prophesy.
4 months ago: Box, I could be wrong, but just as the scripture that states that nothing that goes into a man defiles him, rather that which comes out of him (his heart)... same goes for body art, depends on the context of the life and reason for it...
4 months ago: Jesus said... "It's not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart." (Mark 7:15)

4 months ago: "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" (I Corinthians 6:19)

I don't know about some folks, but I'm just not comfortable putting graffiti on the temple. God never told me was okay to put pictures or symbols of Him on the walls of his temple, so I'll have to leave it in as close to its original condition, (barring quite a few unintentional scars) as possible.
