On Sunday, I put all politics aside as well as all my ranting (I might post a few comments on political rants and raves, but I don't write any). Instead, I focus on raving about things I really think are cool or really like.

Today's rave is all about Google®, Inc. In my mind, while Apple, Inc. will always be my favorite technology company, I'm a long-time devotee, Google® has done a lot more for me personally. Not only has Google® made it possible for me and many millions of other people to make a little money off our ranting and raving and blogging and critiquing, they have also, likewise, made it possible for small businesses to geo target their marketing dollars and charge us only when our advertisement is viewed or used – and newspapers are wondering why they are going out of business (long ago I wrote an entire post about this here on rant-Rave.com). This has allowed me to grow my small business both in brick and mortar and online sales without the exorbitant costs of print advertising. There's rarely a day I don't "google" something. I couldn't do have the work as quickly and easily as do without this amazing tool. My family used to spend half our weekends arguing about minutia, we now solve the argument in seconds using Google® and the Internet giving us more time for more productive and quality conversation and fun. With there development of online applications like gmail, Google® earth and maps, and their new directory for businesses that is increasingly taking the place of the phonebook in our house, Google® keeps innovating new things for which we can use the Internet. Plus, their artistically simple yet clever and uncluttered homepage serves as a model to which all great web sites may aspire.

For these and many more reasons, I applaud Google® for innovation, leadership, and creativity.

My guess is all of the liberal writers that were complaining about Google News cutting off RantRave, would have been talking Tar and Feathers. Too funny.
