Good News: All Roads Lead to Heaven.

If I was on my way to Dallas and someone told me all roads lead there, I would know right away not follow their instructions. The individual is either ignorant, a liar or a fool.

There is no real difference with regard to spirituality.

Most people who consider themselves to be spiritual, realize that death is an event, not a destination. Many of them also realize that the natural or physical is a reflection of the spiritual. That the spiritual is just as real if not more real.

In life we all have the freedom to choose our own paths. However we must realize that all paths DO NOT lead to the same destination. It's not logical or rational to believe that they do.

We are all on a journey called life. Everyone has their own life to live and we all have choices to make.

We need to respect one anther's position without prejudice even when we disagree.

Keystrokes which are used for pigeon holing, generalizing, and blanket labeling of any group by anyone reveals a total lack of sensitivity, understanding or care. It reveals the darkness and corruption of one's own position. Kettle black?

If I were heading for a 500 foot waterfall or a cliff or some other type of destruction and I did not know it, I would appreciate it if someone who has that information would inform me. If you don't, please don't insult me by telling me love me. That is a lie.

Thank you for reading.

If you scan all of the major religions of the world, you will find some objective claim that contradicts an objective claim from another religion. The point being, from an objective point of view, "all roads lead to heaven" is logically and rationally absurd.

If one faith system is true, then by logical necessity, the others must be false.

Who's report will you believe? We may all be in the same boat, but we are not all heading in the same direction.

Truth by definition... isn't it exclusive?

Even within the Christian religion, there's competing roads with one sect condemning the other sect for straying off the road they believe is the only way.

Now back in the real world, the city of Dallas does exist and one can verify (or prove) a set of directions to the city as valid or not. However, there are in fact multiple roads that lead to Dallas - there isn't just one road that leads to Dallas.

Since this is a religious discussion, pehaps some circular logic is in order - if you walk in one direction long enough, you'll eventually end where you started.
18 months ago: "Now back in the real world" That is the real world as you perceive it. There are many who perceive it differently. Does that make all of them wrong and you right?

When it comes to the real world and getting to Dallas, you can perceive it however you like, nor is it an issue of who is right and who is wrong - there's a distinct and provable road set that exists to get you to Dallas. We can research it, map it, etc.

Now when it comes to religion and a world that allegedly exists outside of time and space (e.g. Heaven), it can't be proven, and so your question you asked me is pertinent to yourself and others who claim to know about it.

Who's to prove that all roads don't leave to heaven or only one or some? Since many perceive it differently, does that make all of them wrong and you right?
18 months ago: markbyrn,

When the "real world" offers real proof.... you just explain it away...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8KLjxFCp...

..seeing as Jesus is the way... the video shows real proof of his "real word" life, death, burial, and resurrection.

18 months ago: MB, Not necessarily.
18 months ago: I'll give you three of the four, resurrection is still not proven. And I really like the part in the video where they turn off the camera and falsify part of the evidence, makes me that much surer that those that believe in the myth will go to any lengths to ensure that the myth remains just a myth rather than fact.
18 months ago: Scientific relativity is whatever.

Whatever is not going to get you someplace specific on purpose.
18 months ago: All roads lead somewhere, maybe that somewhere is heaven to someon......
18 months ago: For those passing through, please check out the videos. They really complete what I'm trying to present here.

Thanks.

18 months ago: What do you mean by keystrokes?
18 months ago: Our communications between each other on this forum consists of typed keystrokes.

Keystrokes can be powerful things.

We can help or we can hurt. We can encourage or we can disparage. We can love or we can hate. We can minster life or we can minister death. What is in abundance in our hearts comes out through them.

Luke 6:45
18 months ago: Here is an example --

"This is why I hate Christians...they are evil, sinister hypocrites. "

Folk who harbor hatred are killing themseleves. No good can come from it.

When individuals are motivated by hatred they internalize a bias-blindness that is so deep, they have literally lost all ability to reasonably consider the issues. Nothing matters but their hatred.

"American History X" is a great movie that show what hate can do to people.
18 months ago: HN,

Thanks for your stand brother... I may not enjoy Slayer... but the message your bringing I'm receiving! People can get saved differently... "..but get saved!" And there is only one Way... in the person of Jesus Christ.
18 months ago: Thanks T.

I'm not big time into Slayer. They do have a handful of tunes that I give a listen to. Their lyrics on this one in particular are filled with what could be called misunderstandings and ignorance or just be deliberate and outright satanic lies. That's why I picked it for this post to contrast the truth.

No one will ever be able to say I did not communicate to them the message of Christ. What they do with it from that point is up to them.

The road that leads to Heaven, narrow and few shall find it.

18 months ago: Hi there.
Enjoying the thread and wanted to offer an alternate perspective of the theme "All roads lead to Heaven".
I've read a Buddhist text teaching the importance of honoring all religions and it offers a analogy I found useful. Most spiritual persons among us seek a plateau or pinnacle or peak of righteous understanding and existence which we may call Heaven - we make this climb daily in an effort to ascend the mountain of our religion and belief. The closer we get to the "top" of this mountain we can look down and see that there were many roads we could have taken - all with their own meandering path and set of circumstances.....or beliefs.
18 months ago: Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate what you have shared.
18 months ago: Just to clarify a little and make sure there is no misunderstanding, I see where there are many different paths that can lead to deeper understanding or further enlightenment.

However from a purely Christocentric point of view, I do not see where many roads will get us to eternal life with God.

Jesus stated that He was THE Way, not one of many. He also stated the the path was narrow to eternal life and few would find it but that the road to destruction was wide and many would enter.

Keep seeking and I will continue to do the same.
18 months ago: The year is 2050 and all roads lead to Dallas. Two men sit side by side in an airplane flying to Dallas, they begin to discuss work. The first says: "You keep your nose clean, show up to work every day and just hang in there. I've worked for 20 years at the same company, raised kids and have the same wife I started with." The second man says; "I suppose you're right, but I'm going to be looking for a job. What work do you do?" The first man replies, "I'm the tail gunner on a bread delivery truck."
18 months ago: Keystrokes that can make you laugh. : )
