I love Daft Punk! This trance techno band is the most grand thing since sliced bread! Okay yah, maybe not that grand but they are still very epic. Come on now, how can two guys portraying robots and spewing killer beats not be awesome?
This band is the creators of great songs such as “one more time“, “technologic“, “harder better faster stronger“. This band is not some obscure band that no one but me has heard about (Like these guys: has anyone but me and my friends heard of a band called Dir en Grey? No? See I told you I have a habit of finding bands like that.) Daft Punks songs have been sampled by Kanye west, Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, and many others. If a whole lot of rappers and singers are sampling them because of their beats, they have to be doing something right.
I am not obsessed with this band just because they are in the techno genre, but because they do it so seamlessly and artistically. It helps that they made one of their albums into a anime movie. Anime and techno pure joy. That album by the way is called “Interstella 5555 the 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.” (quite a title huh?) You have to listen to this band to understand why I love them so much (even if it is not your thing just give them a try.)
P.S. the you tube video is their “Alive 2007” concert version of “harder better faster stronger” it is a remix that song and their other song “Around the World“. Yes it is an official video and yes it is suppose to go back and forth like that .
