With a name like Mia Love you would expect a singer or actress of some sort, right? But wouldn't you be surprised if I told you she is the Mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah. Ludmya "Mia" B. Love is a first generation American. She was born in New York City to Haitian immigrants who according to her father never took a single hand out to help his family or put his daughter through college. His words to his daughter were, "I never took a handout. You will contribute to society!" and contribute she does.
Mia is not only the Mayor of Saratoga but she also heads a treadmill class at one of the local recreation centers. Her goal in her class is similar to her personal and professional goals and that is to lead by the example of hard work. Success she believes comes from hard work. She served in Saratoga's city council from 2003 to 2009. Ms. Love who is married with children ran for mayor and was elected because of her successful campaign advocating the preservation of quality of life and open space in Saratoga Springs.
