The Winter Olympic Games are great to watch – I’m always fascinated when they get to curling. It’s such an odd sport, at least for me as an American. I feel the same way when I see rugby or cricket.
The thing is, I doubt that I’ll ever get to play curling for real. The last time I took a big rock to the ice skating rink, I was kicked out.
But this Wii Curling PR release has got me all excited:
A Winnipeg company is aiming for development of a curling video game for Nintendo's Wii console, and appears right on target. Complex Games is producing Wii Curling in hopes of putting it on the market by late next year, after securing a prized licence with the Nintendo home gaming giant.
Sweet. I can’t wait to call my buddy up and invite him over for a thrilling game of Wii Curling. The video of gameplay shows that Wii Curling requires a nice flick of the wrist forward to slide the curling stone correctly and then a violent shaking of the Wiimote to get the broom sweeping just right. I already have the Wii Sports game, and I’ve gotten close to a 300 on the bowling. I hope those hours of practice will pay off when I get Wii Curling. I bet it’s similar.
Well, I’m going to stop by Best Buy on the way home and see if they have Wii Curling. I’ll have to pick up some Molson beer to get that Canadian vibe going, eh?
