My last post I was making fun of Google Trends, and more so, what really "important" stuff we search for on the internet. 100% of my post was "cut and paste" ...yet done in a fashion that wouldn't trip any plagiarism checker, at the same time presenting some random stories out of place, and void of truth. It seems that it doesn't matter if things are true or false, just popular... what ever is trendy is tops! I thank the readers for their patience and DrDarko for his kind words... and yet my post sums up where pretty much most "news" ...and their papers end up after reading them !:]
To contrast that "trend" quest on Google... I decided to look up in the sky on the way home at midnight last night. The moon was almost directly above me, huge and almost full... that is one big rock just floating up there! We sure take things like gravity for granted! That is an amazing piece of "debris" just "randomly" causing the tides to wash our oceans... stabilizing the length of days and seasons; not to mention keeping the Earth on it's axis.... and not completely out of control. Amazingly just one upward "search" into the heavens yielded more information, a greater appreciation, and the most incredible feeling of awe, palling all previous Google image searches put together!
"The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows his handiwork. Day unto day gives speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language; their voice is not heard." (Psalm 19:1-3)
That is incredible... all one needs to do is look up into the sky, and the view will make one wiser, regardless of one's language... no need to have it "translated" we get the message, along with the picture! You know, the view I saw, not only was wonderful, but a bit scary... at night there is nothing illuminated to distract you, nothing separating you from.......... God ....... Somehow our mortality becomes clear...
and our trends, fashions and pride..... obscured.
So, here's the thing... if you've been in need of some perspective and a new start; if your way has become clouded by expectations and deadlines; find a lonely place out under the moon and stars.... and just press search, you may find more than you have ever dreamed! Don't be afraid... just use your God given freedom to search.
Who knows, you may even start a trend !:]
