Late last night, two officers got a call on a suspicious person in St. Pete. Upon investigating, one officer, David Crawford was shot. Hours later, the 25 year veteran passed away. For those who don't know, Crawford is the 3rd in 2011, and the fifth in the past year in St. Pete alone to be killed. I would like to thank the St. Pete police department for not adopting a shoot now ask later policy. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. The worst part about this story is that the gunman is at large. We need to send a message to these scumbags. It's time for a change. Here is what I suggest. Find this son of a ****, and disregard his Miranda rights, and his eighth amendment rights. Send a message to these piece of garbage cop killers. If you harm our men and women in uniform, you will be harmed yourself. It has come to the point where cruel and unusual punishment may be a viable option.
It's not even like he had a political reason to do it. The men and women in uniform don't make the laws, only enforce them. Want to make it legal to carry around a brick and break and enter, take it up with your congressman, not local officer. So I guess this isn't as much of a rant as I had hoped it would be, and I apologize for that, but it started as a thank you to the officers who risk their lives everyday to protect us, and I will end on that note.
To all men and women in uniform who I owe my life to from the military, to police, to firefighters, Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
