It was a cold morning one February 1960, A little boy aged seven was aboard a train traveling on his own to a little train station in the Highlands. At the station waiting was a very pretty, lady with a lovely smile straining to see the train come into the station. The train was a 1956, diesel with only one car she was waiting for the boy.

As the train came to a stop, she stooped down to meet the lad and he came slowly towards her. Then, Mary gently took him by the hand and off they went to Mary's house which was three miles from the nearest road and the landscape all around was the best scenery the boy had ever seen.

Now this boy came from a broken home, and he was the first of many children, in the following years to have a home with Mary. What a great upbringing it was to all the boys who lived with Mary. There were hills to climb, rivers to fish and clean air to breath.

Now Mary looked after little homeless children for more than 50 years until the day she died. Mary was buried in a cemetery on a hill near her home. And to pay their last respects, there was a crowd of children, including the lad that stepped of the train in February 1960. The influence of this lovely lady had on these young lives will never be known. If God exists He is honoured to have Mary come and stay with Him.
