Canadian Military second to none...
VIDEOS

Mark Twain... "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." So it is with the USA in every exaggerated fatalistic apocalyptic fantastic end of the World movie!

I just visited a video rental store where Laura enlightened me to the fact that the US gets annihilated every world-disaster movie that gets made... and the rest of the world gets only a few ripple fall-outs. Sure the World gets destroyed, but not before the US takes the hit... or saves the rest of the World from inevitable destruction.

It's like the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" where the States gets, what we call up here in Canada and average snow-fall. And all of a sudden it's like "Aaaaaaah it's the end of the World" Seriously? So you get stuck in your 4by, we just hook-up another dog to the sled! Haven't ya'll seen freezing rain before? So it is with all this end of the world stuff... just because the States is in recession... Ooooooh the end of the world! Even if it was the end of the USA, it's not necessarily the end of Canada! Look at the movies...

Let me show you... "2012"; I don't care what anybody says... it wasn't Saint Andrea's fault! "28 Days Later"; WHAT... like your kids don't normally bring home rabies from school? "Independence Day"; it's a known fact ET is too advanced to live in our igloo's! "War of the Worlds"; now you're saying "tornado alley" is an ET invasion...Mmmmm. "The Road"; OK, you know a bit about that, you have Idaho! "I Am Legend"; we got this... downtown Toronto (only colder)! "Planet of the Apes"; we got this too... Parliament in session! "Knowing"; really? Nicolas Cage/"knowing" doesn't really go together... I saw him in "Raising Arizona!" You see, our Natives "knew" it long before that,
they even had a word for it... "TEOTWAWKI"

See, you guy's are always exaggerating, like Texas... just exaggerating... you are exaggerating right?? Well, it doesn't matter anyway, you name it Canada can survive it! Because the "world destroyers" will have to go through the US before they get to us !:]

Really, the Canadian Military is second to none... but I don't think that's a compliment!?!

OK, here is some good Canadian humor...

5 months ago: To be fair, Canada was also destroyed in "The Day after Tomorrow".
5 months ago: True is true, but did you know...

"The movie was filmed in Montreal, and is the highest grossing Hollywood film in history to be filmed in Canada"

5 months ago: But, "talk" has it that the devastating effects of the cold were exaggerated and any "Natural Born Albertan" like myself, could survive the extreme cold...

"Seriously..If you live in Alberta..you know that you could have survived that easily. We survive it EVERY YEAR! LOL!!"
http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthre...

...when I was about 13 we walked across the frozen Peace River (almost a mile across) on a survival trip for school... all I had was some food and a normal sleeping bag (not a winter down style)... it was almost -30°F ...I was cold but we all survived in open-air spruce bow lean-tos! The First Nations peoples have survived -65°F in Tepees to Igloos up until about 50 years ago, and some still do!
5 months ago: The best thing about the extreme cold is that it is very dry... this makes it easier to stay warm. The thing that you must be careful about is working up too much of a sweat, because if you do it could be worse for you when you cool down.

5 months ago: Everyone except that one guy who leaped over the counter to fire up the gas stove, just in time to ward off a blast of -200F air, saving his life. Hmmm. 6,000 BTUs vs -200F air x 1000 ft/3. It would have taken over 40 minutes just to warm an entirely enclosed and insulated room up to the freezing mark.

And the people in the people in the library burned furniture and books to survive.
5 months ago: You boys win... I guess I will tell Laura... even Canadians aren't that "cool" !:[
5 months ago: OK boys what's really up? You know I took a two-handed swing at good chunk of the population that doesn't pay attention... that is south of my boarder. It's a little creepy, I thought maybe I get lynched in the night, after ya'all take the high-road in public... but tell me, what do you guys really think about the vids I posted?

5 months ago: I enjoyed the Rick Mercer videos. They were a hoot, even though some of it was edited, and the guy claiming to be Huckabee in the first one was actually an actor.

It's true that over 40% of American adults are qualified illiterate, and think more about what they saw on prime time TV last night than what is happening in the world all around them. That makes them easy targets for whatever con artist comes along.

Another problem complicating things is that the majority of Americans are complacent, mollified, and yes, they do think the rest of the world is waiting to follow our lead. They feel it's up to the rest of the world to learn our ways, our history, even our language.

Take for example the demonstrations immediately following the "Day after tomorrow" movie. These idiots stood out in a blizzard to protest the global warming they saw in a movie.

But our northern neighbors fair not much better. Fully 80% of Canadians read and write on Level 3 or below, while only 20% can function on Level 4 or 5. There, does that make you feel better? :-) http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/P...

I did find the video's enjoyable, of course, took them with a grain of salt, as they are designed to denigrate American citizens, and well, we don't know how many people LENO had to interview to get a good crop of misinformed, compliant, or gullible respondents.

And, anyways, I thought you were a transplant.
5 months ago: OOTB,

There are equally as many "stupid Canadian" vids out there (hoping you would have used some in your reply) however you nailed it on how uninformed the populous is, and the stupid stuff they allow in school instead of teaching the kids something worthwhile...

Parental "kissing game" turns into SICK make-out

...no wonder the West is in such a gullible state. It is suprising to me that we as "developed nations" have lasted this long!

5 months ago: You had best watch your P's and Q's my northern states friend. NAFTA says that your part of the U.S. Everything that is made in Mexico that you need in Canada must travel through these here southern states. Like Texas.

We will cut off your supply of VolksWagons.

5 months ago: I rather watch SyFy. Big monsters, big white sharks, etc. Very laughable with the bad acting trying to look serious.

Those other demonic movies are sickening. A lot of people have gotten sick watching them.
