My Dermatologist is a big advocate for eating the right foods for your skin, health and well-being. After my recent Microdermabrasion, he provided me with some great material about how food can impact your appearance. He heavily promotes organic foods and vitamins.
The one essential thing your skin will always need is water. Absolutely nothing can replace the value water can give your body. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. Water is great for keeping the skin hydrated and removing waste from the kidneys. I fill my water bottle and take steady sips throughout the day. Water will give your skin a normal balance of moisture.
Nutrients will give your skin a natural glow and beauty. Taking Omega 3 essential oils, vitamin C, vitamin E and a multi-vitamin with minerals will promote healthy cell growth, repair and keep the skin healthy. I take vitamins in the morning and afternoon on a daily basis.
Consider buying organic fruits and vegetables which are natural, pesticide and preservative free. Raw fruits and vegetables are full of antioxidants, lycopene, vitamins and compounds that boost the immune system. The more colorful fruits and vegetable are loaded in vitamins that promote healthy skin. Vegetables like greens, sweet potato, radish, peppers, carrots, tomatoes and broccoli have all of the vitamins that are essential in having healthy skin. Fruits like cantaloupe, watermelon, orange, grapefruit, kiwi and lemons cleanse the skin from the inside out.
Choose less fatty organic protein to eat for your skin. Proteins are full of amino acids which promotes new cell growth. Eat plenty of fish, poultry, lean red meat, cheese, eggs and milk. Salmon, tuna, sardines and mackerel are loaded with Omega 3 healthy oil. Organic meat is widely available on the market, but slight more expensive. Spend only what your budget will allow. You can also get a great source of protein from soy, grains and nuts. I tried soy milk for the first time three weeks ago and it's really not that bad.
How you prepare foods can impact the health of your skin. Try cooking in olive oil. It is full of nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins that are all great for the skin. Many skin products on the market have olive oil in their ingredients. Olive oil has vitamin A and E, as well as polyphenol which is found in red wine. It's known for delaying the skin aging process too.
The best way to have beautiful skin is to eat a diet rich in vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and drink plenty of water. Your skin needs nourishment and protection to maintain its youthful appearance. I feel that it is a waste to get facial treatments and ruin it by eating fatty foods. I will be trying a lot harder to eat healthier for my overall health. I am satisfied with the results from my Microdermabrasion treatments and healthy eating plan. This is also a great time to take advantage of the in-season fruit and vegetables on the market.
