Dissecting Scott Browns Victory.

Relax my fellow Republicans. The victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts this past Tuesday is not the first step in our vindication. This was not a vote or a victory for the Republican Party.

Massachusetts voted for America and Scott Brown knows it. If you listened to his victory speech, you did not hear him say once that "This was a victory for Republicans". In fact I do not think he even mentioned the word "Republicans" even once.

Scott Brown knows that with only an 11 percent presence in the electorate, it was not the Republicans in Massachusetts that elected him. It was the Independent voters that broke his way 3 to 1, and it was the 22% of Democrats that voted for him instead of toting their party line.

If anything the Massachussetts special election sends signals that the American Electorate may be starting to care less about party affiliation, and more about the values that the candidate has.

As politics has evolved along with the society it represents; the definition of what a member of a particular party's values should be has changed. There are pro-life democrats and pro-choice republicans. Big-government republicans and limited-government democrats. It may no longer make sense to vote for the democrat just because you are a democrat.

In fact maybe it is finally time to add another party into the system. I know it is feared that the Tea Party could hurt the Republicans, but that is not entirely true. The only thing that the Tea Party can really hurt the Republicans on is when they are counting their numbers when they are trying to form a majority in numbers. That's it. As far as voting is concerned you have a third party that is going to vote with you 90% of the time, but they will have the ability to keep the whole government honest.

This country has had to put up with decades of power shifts from the left to the right with each side scrambling to pass their legislation while they still have control of the reigns. Looking back I think we will admit that there has been major legislation passed by both sides that has not been good for the country.

Pundits on each side have been floating opinions for the past two days regarding what Scott Browns victory means for both parties. I think it could be devastating for both parties, and I am fine with that.

It's time the current system was broken down and rebuilt...by the people...for the people.

Keep voting America!

Nice to see Senator Kerry trying to collect the TEE'd vote by accepting Brown. That is after he lambashed the Tea Party prior to the election. Can we say "Ketchup" is a condiment?

28 months ago: Scott Brown on Kerry when asked if he felt like he was being courted as a swing voter for the Dems:

"I've always had great respect for Sen. Kerry, always. We have worked together on other issues and we'll work together on issues on the future," said Brown."

We'll see if the teabagger's victor eventually leaves a bitter aftertaste.

One would have thought a smart guy like yourself would have seen it coming. Then again. Smart does not always mean brains, money, a rich wife or vision.

No. Are all the Dems and independents who voted for Brown teabaggers? Not in the least, and if Brown forgets that, he could turn out to be 3 year Senator. I don't think he'll forget though and like I said, he might leave a bitter aftertaste in the teabaggers mouths.
28 months ago: Mark, don't get me wrong. When I said Tee'd I was including everyone that is Tee'd. It just so happens that Kerry wants to proclaim that the Tea Party was infiltrating his territory. Who knows? You might be right in 3 years. On the other hand Kerry might need to mend his ways before then to hold his seat in 2014. Too bad we have to wait until then.

Straight off of John Kerry dot com prior to the election.

KERRY CALLS ON SCOTT BROWN TO TELL OUT OF STATE SUPPORTERS TO STOP THREATENING TACTICS
Jan 18, 2010 - 03:40 PM | by Brian Young
“This is not how we do business in Massachusetts.”

BOSTON - At a press conference today, U.S. Sen. John Kerry called on Scott Brown to tell his out of state supporters to put an end to the bullying and intimidation tactics of the past few days.

Recent media reports have described a range of these outrageous tactics, ranging from the theft and burning of lawn signs to threatening comments posted on the Facebook pages of Coakley supporters to death threats posted on Coakley’s own Facebook page.

Yes it time to allow third parties to participate. The two party system is totally dysfunctional. So is the political system. There should be instant runnoff voting and there should be proportional representation. Now that the Supreme Court has outlawed any campaign reform all races will simply be determined by corporate special interests.
