After nearly 50 years of no international relations with Cuba, we finally have made a very big step in approving our relation with the communist country. The president of Cuba, Raul Castro has openly stated that he is ready to talk with the U.S. and put "everything" on the table to include topics of human rights and political prisoners.
I think this is great! Cuba is only 90 miles away and I believe both Cuba and the U.S. can benefit. There is money to be made in Cuba. With all of their beaches, beautiful people, and their Spanish culture, I'm sure it will be a top vacation destination. Europeans and Canadians have been going their for years and love it.
With what the economy is, it would be a wise decision to finally have real talks. It's time to move on. It's been 50 years. I wasn't even born yet. So why do I have to suffer the consequences of the Cold War? I'll can honestly say that if all of the travel restrictions are lifted, I will be one of the first people to visit Havana. I congratulate the Castro administration and the Obama administration.
I' Jay and I have something to say.
