American Idol season hasn't been stunning. Most of the competitors have been merely average, so the show seems boring. Don't get me started on the value of Ellen as a judge.
But the one bright spot in the whole season seems to be my love Crystal Bowersox. Bobby McGee was a great song, and she rocked it last night. Did you miss it?

Last night, Crystal Bowersox sang Pink's Bobby McGee (it's a Janis Joplin song), and even sourpuss Simon said that Crystal's version was the best. Clearly, Crystal is going to blast the rest of the American Idol competitors out of the water. It's not really even a fair comparison.
The judges were almost 100 percent favorable to Crystal Bowersox's Bobby McGee. Randy, of course, said, "That's what's its called 'being a star'." Ellen said that she'd hoped that the singer would pick Bobby McGee. Crystal Bowersox was kind of shy on stage, though. Hater Kara told Crystal to "put down the guitar," for reasons unknown.
Of course, Kara's hardly the best judge of musical ability. It was probably her idea to have Crystal hook up with Miley Cyrus for help on American Idol. Sad moment: Crystal asking Miley to sign her guitar. It should be the other way around -- it will be someday!
