Good News for everyone concerned, finally there seem to be some accountability in the abortion trade. Business won't be the same since the Gosnell murders made the media, the cover-up to this unspeakable tragedy has now been curbed... and has lawmakers in some states banning Planned Parenthood funding.

"WASHINGTON (BP)--Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels signed into law May 10 expansive pro-life legislation that includes a ban on state-directed funding of abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood."

This is all well and good, political fuel for both sides of the abortion "coin" ...however, what is less known is that Planned Parenthood is founded on racist beliefs and has apparently taken donations for the targeting of minorities! Furthermore, You Tube has a history of targeting pro-life content, and censored the findings of these private investigations into this disgusting reality.

IF You Tube and other "unbiased" media censor content based on unpopular opinion, where will we be able to find News at all? IS all the News we are getting now, filtered and regurgitated for us? It would seem anything that goes against this racist agenda to eliminate certain populations from the planet... will soon loose their voice!

The defunding of Planned Parenthood in certain states is good News for the short-term fight... but it would seem that we are loosing the long-term freedom of information and truth! ON every hand we are being silenced or simply deleted from the "screen" of public opinion and demographic. The Left may be the only thing left... a cheap victory won only by deception, censorship and fraud... something to be proud of?!?

There is one consolation... when the "jellyfish" have served their purpose...
...they too will be tossed away!

12 months ago: First off, let's be clear and state that the Gosnell clinic was not affiliated with Planned Parenthood in any way, shape, or form, so it is outrageous to make any comparisons.

Second, let's all go and actually read the article together and draw some important distinctions between what's being said in this rave vs. reality.

The article points to massive mistreatment of patients as well as illegal abortions. It does not in any way shape or form suggest that Planned Parenthood or other organizations are or were operating as these were. To make such an assertion is rhetorical folly.

Finally, let's get something clear, you don't like this? You don't like reading that babies are being killed in illegal ways in illegal clinics run by quacks making millions of defenseless young women and immigrants? You don't like this? Really? Well, get used to it, because if the right wing, neo-conservative movement gets its way, this will be the only way abortions will be conducted in the United States. Instead of the exception to the rule, this will be the norm. Only it won't just be the unborn babies dying, it will be their mothers too. This is exactly what happens when people try to regulate this very personal decision of choice. You force young women and immigrates who don'e speak English to use a house of horrors.

So, maybe you all need to take a minute and think about this very article and if this is where you want all young women to have to go to seek medical attention. By fighting reproductive rights, this is what you're creating!

It doesn't surprise me you were the first leftest out of the gate, you are wrong to say that "Planned Parenthood in any way, shape, or form" ...had nothing to do with the Gosnell case, with all the undercover footage of their damning actions, can you guarantee that they didn't? AND if by chance that in this case they aren't... there is little else that they have done... first, by being unaccountable.

It has been exposed that Planned Parenthood have had employees that have sent many to other clinics like Gosnell's, and have enabled many in the sex-trade of minors to have "silent" abortions away from prying eyes... don't think for a moment that you are defending and "angel" in Planned Parenthood... more like the Grim Reaper!

12 months ago: Oh Please, TB, that's no way to argue a point. I have no evidence that PP was involved, you have no evidence they were. In the USA, innocent until proven guilty.
In the case of your Rave, it's a non-sequitor anyway. Why muddy the waters with it? The relevant point you are making is there is a lack of regulations for clinics that perform abortions and this must change. Insofar as the practice remains legal, there should be regulations and very tough ones to ensure the safety and health protections of those who use the clinic. They should be staffed by very trained workers. The idea that this clinic was operating is disgusting and outrageous. There is no defense for it, and I certainly am not defending it nor its illegal practices.

I do, however, have to challenge other dimensions, and I mostly want people to see that it is precisely this type of clinic your rave uncovers that will become the Speakeasy of this next millennium if people continue to push and push and push to erode current reproductive rights. This is they type of clinic that has been operating illegally anyway, why create a climate where they all much become like this one? Is this really the goal of those who would work to end abortion? Clearly laws against late term abortions haven't been absolute. Why would we beliieve that a complete ban, once again, would eliminate long or short? Instead, what it would do is create an outlaw cottage industry for people like this crazy guy who will prey on the poor and the downtrodden who have no options. Is that really what you people want?

12 months ago: Time for you all to take a step back and use your brains. Neither you nor I nor the government is going to stop abortions neither late nor short term. The rich will find a way to pay for it somewhere and the poor will die trying. We might hate the practice and think it an abomination on our species and an affront to the creator / God / the universe / Mother Earth / whatever beliefs for origin we individually possess. We could make it a crime punishable by death. We won't stop it this way.

The only way, I'm sorry to say to stop it is with education. Time to start teaching young people how to empower themselves not to be in the position to need abortions. We cannot rely on parents to teach birth control. We cannot rely on right wing religious concerns. We need to empower young people.

First, we need to teach young women to value themselves beyond their need to reproduce and have children. We need to teach them they don't need to have sex to be valuable. They don't need to give up their body to the first boy who asks. We need to teach them how to be strong and mature. We need to teach them to desire more than to be the object of someone's affection. We need to teach them they are more than sex objects. We need to teach them they have rights to say who and when touches them in any way let alone the most carnal of which leads seemingly least when you expect it to pregnancy.

12 months ago: Second, we need to teach young men to value themselves beyond their need to have intercourse and spread their DNA. They need to be taught to value women as colleagues and potential life partners but not as sex objects or objects strictly for their affection.

I've written about this dozens of times before, and I'll never stop until I make headway. The solution to stopping abortions cannot be found in laws. It is an endemic byproduct of our society. It's the epitome of the irony that is the neo-conservative movement which abhors government intervention but fights reproductive rights. Really? Which is it? Do you want the government telling you that your 9-year old gang raped daughter has to bring the baby conceived in violence in a crime of violence without a father and without a capable mother to term? Really? People that think this way are as vile as the people who run illegal abortion clinics for you don't have common sense or decency.

Time to end the battle and win the war. The way to win is with education and support, guidance and assistance, understanding and trust. Time to stop blaming the victims of a society that craves violence and war, treats women like second class pieces of property, and devalues the maturation process constantly seeking to accelerate it and deny the stages required to develop a proper sense of responsibility and understanding of consequences.

CLEARLY Planned Parenthood is in the business of slaughter of pre-mature infants! IN my opinion they differ little from Kermit Gosnell, PP is founded on a racist foundation and is providing infanticide by taxpayer funding... if you support it then by all means get your right-off for your donation. IF you want abortions for all go for it... just do it on your own dime... and stop forcing the public to pay for murder.

You say education is what is needed... since the introduction of "sex-ed" into the school system the unwanted pregnancies and all other problems with pre-marital sex has exponentially increased... your so-called education is a failure! With all your talk about values and respect... one would think... you believe we are more than just offspring of ancient extinct apes?!? As to laws, just stop the public funding and you will see how many "supporters" of abortion there is.

As to the worst case scenario (which is rare) ...many people out there want to help pregnant teens so they can adopt. AND so you know I am not all talk on this issue... and I think we have already discussed this, that is why we are currently fostering a child. I don't want to be just pro-life by sentiment, I want to be by action; and anything I can offer to help raise unwanted, incapable parents or uncared for children.

In times past we have just been helping teens... and the fallout in their lives... I encourage others if they have ability and resources, help the unborn children too.... the real "victims of a society that craves violence and war, (and) treats women like second class pieces of property".

Do they help with the abortion option, yes, which is their legal right to do so. But this is not their mission nor their agenda. I'm sorry, but just because you say it's so, doesn't make it so. Go read, get educated. Don't just blindly accuse an organization of things because you want to. I don't know why you are so hot on this topic, but I'm sorry, you've really got to get to the core of the issue. I pray to God, fi there is a God, that you never have to face the kinds of things people who feel they have no option but abortion face. It is a devastating place to be. Thank goodness you would never, apparently, have to be in such a situation. 12 months ago: It's admirable to foster a child to be sure. It's admirable to adopt. It's admirable to be there to counsel a young woman out of abortion (oops, that's one of the missions of Planned Parenthood -- you will notice the name of the organization is planned parenthood not come in and have an abortion on the tax payers). These are trained counselors who work to help young women get out of situations. They help prevent STDs, they provide birth control, they provide education. I cannot see how you could be against any of that.

I couldn't care less about public funding. You people are so incongruous. You fight money for abortion but spend as much as you can building WMDs to keep us safe and authorizing missions to kill people. You are all in favor of capitol punishment, so it's okay to kill once alive? What? These aren't your opinions? Oh, I'm sorry, it's fine for you to assume mine on issues because you call me a leftist when, in fact, I am a staunch independent forced left by the crazy whackadoos on the far right who have cooped the party that used to stand for something other than the greed of oil companies and the banning of rights for gay people!

How old are you TB? Honestly, your picture makes you look like you are in your 40s? Are you too young to remember the back alley abortions? Are you too young to remember the pre-RoeVWade times? Don't give me any more garbage about how suddenly no one will be in favor of abortion if it's not gov't funded. I have known young women who had abortions and never took a dime of state money. Both have lived long lives of regret. Both had abortions pre-Roe V. Wade as 'special clinics'. One is now unable to have children due to the poor technique of the person who did it. Don't even think there is a way on earth I want to go back to such times.
You need to get out of your bubble and into the real world. Go talk to young pregnant girls and help them. Help them make good decisions.

However, I have no statistics as to the percentage of people using these services of late term abortions (perhaps one of the most reprehensible crimes on earth) by race. I have no way of knowing they were all rich white people.

Sorry, you don't know the "extreme circumstances" I have faced, nor that I DO know what it is like to do without. I don't own my own house or very little else... we have had to move 3 times in the last 2 years (because of poor rental housing)... but, what I do have I count as a gift from God, and am willing to share with those who have a lot less. MANY times I have literally given my last dollar... only to see this Jesus you are dubious about, meet my needs. IF I did share my "net worth" as a 40-something... you would change your statement... but what the heck we are all making wild statements today !:]

Too many folks use abortion as an escape hatch. Too many people are irresponsible and then cause innocents to pay for the consequences of their irresponsibility. People need to educated of all the facts.

If we were being properly educated the abortion rate drops instantly. However, there are certain groups and individuals that have a vested interest in the abortion industry. An industry whose ultimate goal is not to help humanity but to make money at the expense of other people lives.

If the money that went to cutting up and sucking out babies went to actual education, went to actual counseling, or even to the mothers who choose to go to term with their babies, the world would be a better place.

Planned Parenthood was born out of the heart of a racist woman who thought nothing better than to kill of that which she deemed to be the inferior stock of the human race.

There was nothing compassionate about it.

Regardless of circumstance abortion should never been seen as the first option, if an option at all.

The health of the mother, the health of the baby she is carrying is not PP's primary concern either. The cash register rings every time the door swings open and an innocent life gets sent to the dumpster. It's reprehensible.

If strange to know there are folks out there who would call others racist when by their own admission, certain institutions target specific groups of people in order to exploit and not help them. If you really want to learn a lesson, try counseling with the women who have had the abortions and the later realize what they have done. The scars and issues can take a lifetime to get over but they won't tell you that.

If you want to deal with an organization. A real grassroots organization that has no political agenda and is actually looking to benefit humanity, you need to check out Birthright.

12 months ago: Planned Parenthood are not in the business of slaughtering babies. 97% of their work is to provide preventative care for poor women who have no other place to get it. This preventative work saves $3 for every dollar spent.

Their main goal is to educate and help women to take control of their reproductive lives so they don't have unwanted pregnancies. They provide alternatives to abortion and thus lower abortion rates, but when a woman feels that she has no alternatives they provide safe and sterile abortions that do not put the woman's life at risk.

By making it illegal to obtain legal abortions Republicans will simply force women to the back alley abortionists. In addition mail order abortificants (safe or not) are available over the internet. Women will be downing pills with no assurance of safety or purity that might result in the death of the woman or in disfigurement or terrible birth defects if the fetus is brought to term.

Assistance, adoption and prevention are the best methods.

We need more pro-life pro-life agencies more readily available. These agencies need to enjoy the same freedoms as pro-abortion agencies. Let's get some tax-dollars flipped in that direction as well, okay? If anyone takes exception to that, they are a hypocrite if they continue to say they support a woman's right to choose.

There need to be more options provided and more workable solutions offered. Unfortunately its going to take a fight because PP does not want any competition. They wan the control of the women's reproductive rights and they spend government money and lobby to make sure they can.

The revolution is coming folks. It's a revolution of responsibility where young men and women are taught that they are not evolved animals. Where young men and women are taught that their lives have value and their sexuality is not something to be worn on their sleeve.

An abortion should not be seen as a flotation device when the plane goes down. In most instances the plane would have never been in trouble in the first place if the individuals dealt with the potential ramifications of irresponsibility before they engaged in the irresponsible behavior.

The real education takes place before the baby is even in the equation. if folks were taught properly about their sexuality, about who they are and that they have a purpose the abortion rate plummets.

The revolution is coming where folk realize that abortion is a reprehensible and diabolical solution to a problem. The last legal option that one should consider because the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical cost and the consequences of it are just too high.

People are waking up. Unlike some others here, I will be glad when that industry is seen as being obsolete and is shut down. Not by political mandate but from tha fact that women and men have awakened and realize what is going on in their communities and now PP's "services" are no longer required.
12 months ago: I've heard many statistics and read a lot of round the circle talk about sex education.

Not sure about the results where the various posters here encountered, however in my local - Canada just in the suburbs of Toronto.

Sex ed has expanded from a fairly limited section of physical education that was taught in grades 7 through 9 inclusively in the first half of the 80s. All told, we got about 10 weeks of sex ed over 3 years. In the current board where I live, and have lived since my children started school, the program has expanded to begin in grade 4 with basic health education -- macro-human-biology for lack of a better phrase. Introduction to human growth patterns, puberty, adolescence, aging, and at a 'high' level, reproduction. Grades 5 and 6 start introducing issues of developing sexuality and topics such as menstruation, erections, breast development, nocturnal emissions. By grade 7 and 8, topics such as pregnancy, intercourse, masturbation, sexual orientation, reproductive health, STIs, and contraception are being addressed.

By grades 9 and 10 topics have evolved to psychological changes that can develop during adolescence and the potential for various mental illness to become apparent during that time. The sexual activity and biology components of the lessons are review.

Teen pregnancy rates have dropped significantly -- by over 50% in the past 25 years.

Morality issues are left for parents and religious leaders to teach in an appropriate setting. None of the abstinence only stuff. Scientifically, medically valid information is taught. Reality is, however, you need to stay the course for about 10 years before you see the full benefits of the program.
